Where are the small creeks and rivers?

Is it just me or does FSX kinda skimp on creeks, streams, and small rivers? Or am I missing something?

RD

Nope. Not missing anything bud. This is one reason why products such as UTX (Ultimate Terrain X), Orbx FTX (Full Terrain eXperience) and others have become so popular. It also depends on the region you are flying in, as some have higher resolutions of detail while some are quite bland.

Sounds like you're telling me that if I want creeks, etc., to show up, I've got to get the plastic out huh.....

Thanks....

Ultimate Terrain and Ground Enviroment X are must haves imo. Also add Active Sky Evolution to that. Then you have the ground, clouds and realistic variable weather covered.

Once the "world" is taking care of you can concentrate on your aerial vehicle of choice and what you wanna do with it.

That's the deal. However, if you fly in a region they cover, you won't regret UTX. It really enhances the VFR three "R"s (all the roads, rivers, and railroad tracks). Coastlines and lakeshores are MUCH improved, too; and that's worth the cash even without the additional landclass, autogen, and lighting improvements. It's completely configurable for most machines' FPS needs, and it blends seamlessly with Orbx's amazing scenery. I can't imagine flying VFR without it.

It depends on what you are looking for. I think there are freeware solutions, but I don't really know them. Orbx FTX covers small regions, like the Pacific Northwest. UTX+GEX cover whole expanses, such as areas like North America, but without all the cool widgets that FTX has such as updated airports, etc.
