I couldn't find anything searching. I am looking for a way to add/adjust a reverser on any jet. I know reversers are an option on prop AC but I cannot divine the corresponding input for jets other than the toggle 'reverser_available=1' cfg line. Is it by chance the 'bypass_ratio=1.07' line within the [turbine_engine_data] section? Thanks in advance.

The minimum throttle has to be less than zero.

[GeneralEngineData]
min_throttle_limit = -0.25

The further below zero you go, the more reverse you'll get. This line needs to be paired with the reverser available toggle in order to not end up with forward thrust. It works for both jets and t-props without any effort, but on piston pushers, you need to work some other types of voodoo like what's been done with the Connie series.

Reverser available is the only thing I know off. The Bypass ratio definitely has nothing at all to do with it. That is just how much thrust is created by the fan blades without going through the combustion chamber.

Yeah..forgot about that line. But no need to be afraid of the Connies ...no Voodoo or bad mojo...just skillfull programming by Hansi and Luis :applause:

In the end it really is just a true rendition of the blades going into beta, something that FS does not model all that well with piston engines.
I could however not explain all the nuts and bolts either, I just made sure the final product felt right and behaved according to the numbers.

Thanks for the help. I was always puzzled because some AC like Mike Stone's C17 have robust reverser power and others seem wimpy. It's a balance between the on/off brake power and engine stopping power to simulate a reasonable stopping time and distance.

For the piston reverse, I told the Connie guys about this (it was told to me by someone else, so it's not my idea either). Basically what we do is alter the aircraft.cfg file to set the blades to reverse pitch at the feathering stop, so the reverse gauges simply rotate the blades to the feather position (i.e. set them to the minimum blade angle possible in FS). This provides reverse thrust upon landing. To cancel, the gauges move the blades back to full fine.
