I'd read about the US Navy before and during WWII stowing extra aircraft in the overhead of the hanger bays on aircraft carriers, but this is the only picture I've seen of it. Some SBD Dauntlesses and what looks like some TBD Devastators up in there. USS Lexington (CV-2) in 1941.
