• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

I know it's summer in the Northern Hemisphere (allegedly...) and the regulars are gardening, flying RC models, tossing steaks on the barbie, moving house, going on holiday, concluding the academic year etc leaving the CFS3 forum quiet ... but ... this is still the CFS3 forum.

There's a new release from the IL-2 stable - Cliffs of Dover - and it looks great, the VC modelling and damage effects are jaw-dropping: just the stuff to make really good videos ... but ... this is still the CFS3 forum.

A new sim usually has its new problems or quirks to work around, its hardware requirements and the almost inevitable wait for patches to get it on an even keel; all of which make interesting reading ...but ... this is still the CFS3 forum.

As a medium-term member of SOH, could I ask fans of other sims to use the forums already existing to discuss their current faves. We know now that is CloD is out on full release, thank you for letting us know!:jump:

This is nothing personal, nor is it anti-CloD; I want nothing to do with the poisonous flame wars and trolling that went on some years back. All who have posted on CloD are as welcome here as they ever were. :)

Grumble over. Best wishes to you all!

tend to agree ...cfs3/ and its addons ,,or spin offs , eto , maw , pto , ,,,i think the issue of recent new releases was to see if and when any ideas could be salvaged on future develeopments foprm the masters , i.e. water effects and some scenery issues ive heard

but in essence all are aware and again the the masters seem on seaonal and family rest

well deserved .....

but as simmer and groupie followrer of the cfs3 and its spin offs im hoping for future and further updates specific on such

so i do agree with your overall thoughts on this issue

and again many tks to the one or ones, bringing the good bad and ugly forward on any new releases to keep abreast of deveopement

no shame in a game

tks

..For the sake of ...I dunno what(lol) I tend to agree... though methinks ''OT'' prefix would suffice... (?) ...moderation in all things my son.............:kilroy:..............(just me peekin' over the fence....)

I have been gnashing my teeth on this for a bit as well. I think a one time announcement of a new sim is sufficient. Those interested can then go to the appropriate forum and see what's going on with development, etc.

Excuse me now, need to go work on making water. I'll re-surface sometime this fall. .)

I'v been putting things on this forum about CLoD with the thought that we are flight sim'ers that enjoy a good WWII flight sim.

I'm not saying "what works for me should work for everyone", that's just as narrow-minded and selfish as saying that "if it doesn't work for me then surely nobody else must like it either"

From now on when I have something to say about CLoD it will be on the IL2 forum Or an OT: if its a video.

No hard feelings guys:ernae:

Well done to all contributors to this thread!

I'm impressed at how well the issue was stated, without flames or personal attacks. And all responders actually seemed to recognise and respect the tact and delicacy that hairyspin used.

No more to be said really. :ernae:

...my only concern is that Bob may need a 'facility' nearer to his work area for convenience...:running:
