Wowser!! Great work as always Ted and John!!
One teeny question, were the RAF using Phillips screws in that period, I thought they were all slotted?

Cheers, Clive

I wouldn't know. There is a mix so let's say we use what is available.....

I just wish we were able to have more gauges. There are several that just could not get to work. But at least they look nice.

I guess HomeBaseand and B&Q ran out of them!:playful: (UK equivalent to Home Depot or Lowes)

Invented by an American Henry F Phillips in 1936 as far as I can make out, certainly used on US aircraft, not so much RAF, so yea probably not correct Clive, especially for the earlier types.
Having said that I have seen a cross slotted screw used on RAF aircraft, not Phillips, but could easily be mistaken for them?

I had an elderly client a few jobs back who was convinced Phillips head screws were a communist plot to reduce efficiency.

Whitley looks great Ted! Which variants will we see?

Putting the screws to me are you!!!!!!

LOL, old film noir line, I think it was James Cagney in White Heat, never mind the triva, all the screws are 3d so as I mess around with little issues, I think I can manage to fix that oversight from this side of the pond. As far as versions, mkv and I might ask John for a couple Coastal Command skins (really love attacking convoys and sinking subs).

"all the screws are 3d"

Heck that is dedication and attention to detail Ted! Sorry to cause a little extra work 🫣

From what I've read, Phillips screws were invented for automation and power tools which were difficult to centralise in a slot. Too easy to slip out and damage the work piece.

Very much looking forward to this one.

When the gauges are all 3d, why stop there....
