Who are these developers???

Not clear to me. Could you please explain? Why do you say it's "not ready"?

Ahh but of course, the way the plane was presented with the screenshots with the jagged edges. And thinking about Ants Tiger Moth which is no cost but much greater detail. Here we have not very HD detail

OK, so you are judging the product based on screenshots.

I agree, Anthony's Tiger Moth is excellent, and 20 Euros is expensive. Maybe somebody at Avsim or Flightsim will review it...

Mostly, of course like they say a picture is worth a thousand words. I'm a very big fan of Vintage aircraft, this one is quite a disappointing sight

I would have to agree that the developer used a poor selection of "low-res" images to sell a "Highly Detailed" aircraft. Probably not the best idea, but after reading through the list of animations and details included with the aircraft (2048x2048 textures) and if I was a fan of the airplane, I would probably take a chance on it despite the poor quality screenshots. This appears to be the first offering for this developer who, I don't think, even has a website set up yet. The airplane also appears to have self shadowing which is a nice touch.

There is an e-mail address on that page, maybe a kind note to the developer suggesting a better selection of screens for his next offering (if there is one) would be in order. Maybe he needs to have someone better equipped to do screenshots handle that part of the project in the future if these are the best his system can handle. Finally, don't be too overly critical of the airplane based on poor screenshots. As I mentioned, the textures are 2048x2048, which allows for some very nice detail. . . .far better than the screens suggest, obviously. You might also check with the developer to see what his "return policy" is, if there is one. If you buy and are not happy with what you have, he may be open to giving you a refund.:salute:

I never liked the pilots in the otherwise fantatic free ware version by Ant (looked like russian dols or mr blobby) and the do look very simular on this payware version

FSX does that all on its own with any fsx native plane, dev doesnt have to do anything :engel016:
Ok, I don't get into all that to be honest. All those things like bump mapping, specular yada yada and self shadowing are lost on me. I just enjoy flying airplanes and spend little if any time ooohing and ahhhing over the extra's. Thanks though for pointing that out.:salute:

Here's an FYI. . .Mike Hasted (the developer) has some new screens set to max that will be uploaded to simmarket this weekend. He is setting up a website and has two additional aircraft that will be released in the coming weeks. Thanks for that info Mike!!:salute:

Everyone has their starting points. I wouldnt be so hasty to shoot him down so quick. He might one day become like one of the greats in this small world of FS aircraft construction.

Maybe send him some kind, informative advice instead of shooting down his hard work. ;) It takes a tremendous amount of work to just make the mesh, let alone, painting it, sounds, gauges (ackkkkk! ), animation coding for custom work, getting the SDK system to work right, packaging and installers that can find FS on most all computers and windows variants, as well as taking pictures and.... if you are in another country of another language other then English, then translating your work of art into that language you may not know...

Its not easy...

Indeed there is a starting point, this is defenetly no shootdown :wiggle: It just felt like they didn't take the right approach here and wanted to get a second opinion. The words "high detail" here and quite misleading. It's a quite complex second opinion as I don't want it to lead to any discouragement

I agree Flameprop - and I seen no reason to not to ask questions about something we are considering purchasing (probably without any hope of taking it back and getting a refund as even we could with a tin of baked beans) Im looking forward to reading some favourable reviews from owners.

I'll reiterate what I posted above and which no one seems to have paid much attention to. There is an e-mail address on the product page that goes directly to the developer. I e-mailed him this morning and within an hour I had a reply. I posted his information above. If you're concerned about refunds or anything else related to Mike's work, why not send him an e-mail rather than waiting for someone to buy it or wondering about any return policy. He seems receptive to inquiries, so maybe rather than dragging it around in the forum, a cordial e-mail to Mike would answer some of those questions.

I tend to believe that his use of "highly detailed" was related to what he knows to be true with respect to the liveries and probably the animated parts of the airplane. Unfortunately the screenshots are such poor quality it's impossible to get a good look at what he obviously spent a lot of time creating. Now I said in an earlier post that he redid the screenshots and they are supposed to be uploaded this weekend. I'm sure "when" that happens will be something that's out of his control. . . .the folks at Simmmarket will upload them as soon as they can. Hopefully his idea of better quality screenshots will give everyone a better idea of what his product looks like and anyone that was hesitant about a purchase will feel better about laying down the cash.
