Who has the Captain Sim 732?

Has anyone here purchased the new Captian Sim 737-200? The 732 is one of my favorite aircraft of all time. However, lets face it, Captain Sim aircraft tend to be bug riddled upon first release. If you have this aircraft tell me what you like and don't like about it and what bugs does it have that need to be fixed? Right now all that has been released is the exterior model. I will wait for the cockpit to be finished before purchasing but I would like to get initial impressions on the flight model.

Its a goodie , but it really missus the the real feel 200 VC , very surprised as most the cockpit detail did not change so much from a 72 , one thing i did'nt see was when the thrust rev was applied , the lack of smoke effect .

I have it and agree that is great - proof that Capt Sim can improve their products each time they release something

The VC on that one looks a little too plasticy for my taste. Hopefully Captain Sim does a better job. A 737-200 would be nice to play with.

Sweet! I've had pretty good luck with most of the JF products and in general they're good quality and evolving at a good pace. I didn't even know JF was working on a 732 but from the screens it looks pretty good and I will definitely be buying it. No doubt there will be tons of repaints but I hope to see both early and late Piedmont schemes. I grew up watching them in the air overhead every day with that familiar whine and roar of the JT8D engines.

You shouldn't have to improve a payware product like that. It should be right from the start.

Yes, but what *is* "right"?

I prefer my textures non-photoreal, for example...and adding a speck here and there isn't the end of the world.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't know the other ones existed. I love the old JT8-D powered airliners like the 732, DC-9, and 727. Is it just me or do the exhaust nozzles on the justflight website look a tad too small.

I have the 737-100 by Captain Sim. I have no complaints... But I couldn't help using the RADitor tool to update the radius (viewing distance way too far away in spot view and preview screen). The CS 737-100 needs the same cure as the CS 727-200...

And I did the 727 VC swap described in the CS forum here:
http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1315023933/15#15

I tried to make it look like a 2 engine panel... can't say I succeeded much (3 throttle levers...). But I find it's still a better alternative to the default FSX 737-800 glass cockpit... while waiting for the complete CS package with real 1960's 737 VC.

Whoa! Awesome job on the temporary VC. The premanant one is what I am waiting for before purchasing. Does you temporary one have the 737 overhead or the 727 one?

Does your temporary one have the 737 overhead or the 727 one?

It's the complete CS 727-200 panel, overhead, engineer's, pedestal, everything... and mixed with the CS 737-100 flight dynamics, I'm sure the purists will be outraged! But Captain Sim makes wonderful looking cockpits, couldn't resist... And if you don't use fancy FMC and such modern avionics, no bugs as far as I'm concerned, and pretty decent FPS... (and no FMC, MFD, PFD, EICAS in this line of classic Boeing anyway...).

My only complaint: not enough repaints... so far... But the ones I found are fun indeed!

Excellent a 727 CS merge. Thank you for HU and link. I will implement that. I need to give the Canadian North Paint a work out. For sometime I have been looking for a painter to do a First Air and the New look Air Inuit 737-200. Then my northern pride of CS is complete.

CaptainSim 737-100 & 200 with VC

CaptainSim 737-200 with VC is available since a few days ("Experimental" version 0.5, for test pilot only http://www.captainsim.com/). This "Step II" model is quite interesting. The VC is complete, very good looking, and a lot of bugs found by test pilots in the 0.4 version were addressed. You'll have to wait for the 1.0 version Step III for a complete passenger cabin and "realistic" flight dynamic.

If you purchase the 0.5 version now, the 1.0 / Step III upgrade will be free. I guess it's a good idea to grab this 0.5 version now cause it's nice to have the option to have a virtual cockpit without cabin, easier on FPS... This "light" VC option is not always available, the CS 767 has it, not the CS 757 for example...

737-200 KLM repaint in the free livery section. Here over beautiful NL2000 scenery.

Canadian North repaint is included in the base pack! CG_1976 is going to like this one I hope...

VC is very good looking. Didn't play with all the functions yet... FPS are very good.

No 2D panel but I'm trying to build one, 16:9 ratio of course, 4:3 later...

With some efforts the 737-200 VC is compatible with the "Step I" 737-100 early 0.1 version... cool!
