• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

in the aircraft menu bar ...
how to reduce size of the aircraft names ???
because when the aircraft name is too long it appears like that :
'Hurri...ABC' instead of 'Hurricane Mk2 Sqn ABC'
because it make me :bs: in QC always to search for the one I would like to fly or to fight...
 
Hi mate you need to go into the relevant aircrafts folder and open its XDP file. Right at the top there is the 'long name' and 'short name'. edit the short name to whatever you want. Save the file and when you restart the game it'll have the edited name on your menu.

Don't touch the xdps if you fly multiplayer! In that case, I'm afraid there is no solution.
 
If you hover the mouse over the abbreviated name doesn't the full name appear briefly floating over it?

Right Nigel, I don't multiplay, so I tend to forget compatilibility issues.
 
Multiplayers are mostly only played with stock aircraft, so if that Hurri is imported, it won't give a problem...
