Who turned off the lights

SOH-CM-2014
This happened a time or two before but I just can't remember how to fix it. I've got a helicopter that used to have working lights but now only the VC light does. I reinstalled from the original zip without helping. The actual FX files are still there and work on other aircraft. I'd rather it not be a special night-ops bird.

Did you try resetting your default flight to a stock Cessna?
Long shot, but it's possible one of your addon aircraft has made a strange configuration on the electrics bus, which you are "inheriting"

Another long shot here but make sure your master switch is "On." Using the quick start doesn't set the master switch to on in any of my helos. That drove me crazy for a while until someone suggested that. Worth a shot if you haven't tried it.

Good luck,
Duckie

For anyone else that this happens to you should try loading a known working aircraft as the default. Some setting in another aircraft I had up as the default carried over to my MD500E killing the lights.

Glad you got sorted, there are several addon aircraft that have this effect, unfortunately.
Some panels have other strange effects - I have an A319 version that changes my 5.1 speaker setup to 2 (stereo) !
