Why does my FW190 (Marketplace) not connect with repaints???

None at all, and it's not finger trouble here (the usual solution)
I've contacted Flying Iron - zilch, maybe on holiday.
No other aircraft does this, am I the only one that bought it at the MP I wonder.

Perhaps someone could point to where I could find .cfg files for this thing.

I'm afraid the cfg files of marketplace addons are not available for editing. But that's not necessary. You'll have to change the cfg files of the repaints in the community folder. I imagine that they all point to the direct purchases in the community folder, so you'll have to change the path in those cfg files.

Thanks, yes that is what I surmised.
I have no idea where to look for these in my Steam install, any help appreciated!

I'm looking into it. But I also changed the title, to not all caps. All caps is considered to be impolite in internet etiquette.

First of all, the aircraft.cfg file of the repaint should have this:

[VARIATION]
base_container = "..\flyingiron-fw190"

The texture.cfg files should point to:

fallback.1=..\..\xxxxxxx

In other words, the texture.cfg files should have one more …\ added to the lines.

Yes aircraft.cfg file says:
[VARIATION]
base_container = "..\flyingiron-fw190"

and texture.cfg says:
[fltsim]
fallback.1=..\..\flyingiron-fw190\texture

I am wondering if the full path length must be used maybe.
Very strange.

I mean, most liveries are drag-and-drop into your Community folder nowadays, with no need to edit Config files. Are you trying to make your own, or are you having trouble having Community folder add-ons show up?

Far as I can make out, it's ONLY the Flying Iron FW 190 so affected.
All the other repaints for various aircraft are appearing!
Maybe I will need to re-install the sim to clear its throat,

You might want to take a look what the folder name of the 190 is in the official folder. Where the marketplace purchases are stored. It could be that the name there is different and that you have to change it to that name.

Yup this is heading in the right direction
In the Steam folder:
C:\Users\Playtech\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Official\Steam\flyingiron-fw190\SimObjects\Airplanes\flyingiron_fw190
In the Community folder the repaint aircraft.cfg calls up
[VARIATION]
base_container = "..\flyingiron-fw190"
which I changed to \flyingiron_fw190"
Now the repaint shows up in the aircraft selection menu.
However, in the sim:

Not sure where to look for the texture mappings...

In the texture folder of that repaint, change this line in the texture.cfg file:

fallback.1=..\..\flyingiron-fw190\texture

Into this

fallback.1=..\..\flyingiron_fw190\texture

Ah!
Thank you for your very helpful input Sir.

Perhaps Flying Iron would consider changing the Marketplace model to match their inhouse version?
This would immediately enable all those wonderful community contributions.
I will point them to this thread.
