Wideawake, Ascension, first look

Just thought i'd post a few screenshots of Wideawake, i dont normally do "work in progress" but there's a few issues i may need help with and i'd like to hear your ideas/comments.

The airfield and its self is pretty much done although there's a lot of smaller objects im going to include, in Vulcan 607, "the small red and white control tower" is spacificly mention'd, so i'll make one up best guessing as i go,
Also work'd out the parking slots pretty much and a basic traffic file, ive used UKmil's Victor for ai, mainly to get distance's right between slots, ive got 11 running on my PC without to much frame loss, but there not really suitable, i'll also try with Ito's Victor to see if that works any better on slower PC's, although Itos has the wrong late 60's camo, if it works, anyone fancy doing a quick and dirty Corporate scheme :icon_lol:. Vulcans should be no problem, just install UKmil's Waddington and use the ai,
The biggest headache is going to be mesh, as Jamie mention'd in a previous post, there are some quite large hills south and west that almost slice the runway in half which are totally missing in the MS version, these are a very important feature of the airfield and pointless releasing without them, ive just got to figure out how, although there is an idea the Jamie mention'd thats worth a try.

Ian,

looking good. I used to use a mesh for Ascension and St Helena by John Holden. Add in the trick from Tom (it only effects Wideawake so no worries about other airports) and the half hill turns to a whole hill :d

Also look for mesh for the Falklands by Giovanni "Bavarello" Miduri. It's what I used back in '09 to decent effect. Might be newer kids on the block nowadays. There's also a pack of airfields for the Falklands and a skin and flightplans for the FIGAS Islanders going about, forget authors (various).

Hi Jamie, ive been looking for the mesh set by John Holden but its nowhere to be found, its probably one of the files lost in the great Avsim crash.
cheers ian

Ian,

forgot to mention that if you delete the file suggested by Tom (recommended) you will end up with a floating runway at the far end, I solved it with some taxiways that flatten as they go, check my AFcad on the other thread to see what I mean. Was an easier option than a flatten for me as I had no idea how to do them or if they would spread tofar and flatten the hill again.
