Wilco A340 Help Needed

Members +
I got the Wilco A330/340 a couple days ago, and it works fine, except when I try to load an approach in the FMC, and I try to select the runway, FSX crashes to desktop. I tried a solution I find that involved changing the FSX security settings, and reinstalled the plane before and after doing that, but the problem persists. Anyone else have this issue and resolve it?

Hi,

Are you using FSX boxed or FSX:Steam? If using Steam you may need to install some of the older simconnect modules for the addon to function correctly.

If using the Steam Edition you can find them in FSX/SDK/Core Utilities Kit/SimConnect SDK/LegacyInterfaces/

Just run the SimConnect.msi in each folder. Probably just run each oner and then test if it helps the issue, starting with the installer in FSX-XPACK.

Cheers,

Anyone else encounter this problem? Also kinda hijacking my own thread here, but does anyone use the SkySpirit 747-8i? It carries more fuel than the default 747, yet has half the range, so I'm guessing its a fuel flow issue. How do I remedy this? And the A340 issue?

I have already tried Google Bjoern. I managed the fuel flow, and I could only find ONE solution for the approach loading issue. (see first post) which didn't work. This is a different issue than FSX crashing to desktop when the a340 is loaded. That is simply solved by running FSX in Admin. mode. But my problem is that it crashes when I try to load an approach

You should mention that you've already queried the all-knowing oracle.

Regarding the approach issue, have you considered taking it to the official support?

Wilco isn't really known for their support... might be worth a shot though. I just can't believe there's no one else here who has had this issue
