Will MSFS work well with other simulators?

MSFS has nothing to do with DCS or IL-2. They are separate flight sim programs. I have DCS installed on the same M2 drive as MSFS and fly each. The only difference for me is that since I use a VR headset (Quest3) I must run DCS through Steam VR. I don't need Steam VR to run MSFS through my Quest 3.
 
If you mean can you fly an aircraft in MSFS during a Group flight and see other aircraft in the Group that are using FSX, P3D or XP, the answer is yes. But you need a program such as "SWIFT" which links all the participants.
SWIFT can be a bit of a b-gger to install & if you get it, keep it up to date because if you don't you can find yourself dropped off & again it can be a b-gger to get back on, IMHO & experience.

What I meant was will MSFS still run smoothly with DCS installed? My PC is mentioned in the first post (so that you can take a look at the specifications).

It should. If you can run MSFS, I think you can run DCS. DCS has a multithread version that better utilizes the CPU.
 
Available drive space would be the limitation - SSDs are preferred, and MSFS is huge, DCS is smaller but still consumes a fair amount of storage - the more maps and content you get. If you plan on using your computer for other stuff other than simming, then I'd suggest having an additional SSD to store the MSFS game files.
 
I'd be tempted to leave the original hard drive for your operating system & personal files and buy a 2gb or greater SSD dedicated for MSFS / DCS. I'm around 1gb on MSFS now with all the addons.
 
I think guzler means at least 2 terabytes, not 2gb. I agree with his advice. As long as you have the disc space, each of the sims will run equally well regardless of whether any others are installed. You only run one at a time!

Pshaw, one needs 2 TB for MSFS alone if they have as much in their sim as I do. I'd get another SSD with 2 TB for those two like I'm doing for MSFS 2024.
