William Byron to drive No. 24 next year; Chase Elliott #9

That's what happens when you have been the series for a long time with no championship trophy and fewer and fewer wins each season.

Kids with skills, lots of fire in their bellies, and no fear. It's human nature, as we age we generally let experience and wisdom overrule bravery and we take fewer chances.
Of course!
And to be honest, I'm surprised the youth movement hasn't happened sooner & with more drivers!
Newman, Bowyer, Burton all drove for a looooong time...

Plus the younger drivers are signing contracts that are a lot smaller then the types going to the older drivers. They also get a percentage of the purse as an incentive. Why pay multi million dollar contracts for older drivers when you can get a young driver for a lot less.
