Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

Williams considering sale, terminates ROKiT sponsorship

https://racer.com/2020/05/29/williams-considering-sale-terminates-rokit-sponsorship/

I believe the downfall of Williams began/started with the whole "Mechachrome" fiasco.....

The story of Williams has always been full of up-and-down. The Mecachrome "fiasco" was not worse than the Judd one in 1988, and they came back to the front with BMW with 10 wins between 2001 and 2004. They were the 3rd best team in 2014/2015, only because Mercedes was by far the best engine. Then, they began to fall downhill when the other engine suppliers (Ferrari, Renault, then Honda the last couple of years) progressively closed the gap. So, their last (final?) downfall started somewhen between 2016 and 2017.

They won't be missed.
Williams fall from grace was inevitably their own fault, they lost Honda due to favoring Mansell over Piquet, the Mecachrome drama came about through the departure of Renault Works support and Williams adopting an engine supplier who was not capable of developing and maintaining an obsolete engine (didn't help BAR either), while the departure of Patrick Head was the real beginning of the end.
