Win10 Users w/ ETO - Can't change Eras or Spawns?

Edit: Hah...I just noticed this was already mentioned in the Knowledge base sticky. My bad...well I guess it can't hurt to mention it again :)

Hi everyone. I've upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 and noticed a potential snag that can happen when installing ETO and trying to run it properly. At least for me, I was unable to switch Eras and Spawns as the bat files were not able to write to the directory. I just wanted to share what I did to fix this and if this has already been brought up I apologize!

Step 1: Right click your CFS3 ETO Expansion installation directory and go to Properties

Step 2: Go to Security tab and find your name listed, if your permissions look like this we need to change them...

Step 3: Click the Edit button, find your name listed again and check off Full Control and click OK

Hope this is helpful to somebody :)

Great post, windows 7 users have to do this as well. Mine was already done from watching those excellent eto setup
tutorial videos. And setting that permission box does more than just make etos work.

Good to know, I wasn't aware Windows 7 had this issue as well. Quite a pesky one!

Win7 64 user.
It made all the ETO extra scenery, vehicles etc show up for me. Now I see why this add-on is so popular. It took several seconds to change, and the screen was scrolling through text, I assume it was changing the security settings for all the subdirectories as well.
