I spent some time running OFF under Windows 7 32-bit today, and the results were quite promising.
The installation went off without a hitch, although I did have to run OFF config mgr in Vista compatibility mode. I set the app to run at 1920x1200 with 2xAA. During the process, I also patched the game to version 1.2, again without issue.
TrackIR was no problem at all. It installed and functioned normally from within the game.
I used the Nvidia control panel to set my video card to 4xAA and 8xAF for the OFF/CF3.EXE and also set the card to Application Override.
After all that, I spent a couple of hours flying QC missions, 6 vs 6, Albtaros vs DH2. To the best of my knowledge fps didn't sink below 50 during any of the missions (which started at 5000ft).
I was particularly impressed with the experience down low around airfields. Fps remained quite strong, regardless of the scenery density.
This is just one persons experience. Mileage will vary. And, no doubt, a bug will reveal itself, here or there Still, it's nice to know that OFF won't fade into the realm of "unsupported legacy applications" when Windows 7 arrives.
