Windows 7 Lab Rats Wanted

I've got W7/64-bit installed on a partition of this machine.

The OS doesn't benchmark particularly well, running 5-6% below Vista.

TrackIR doesn't appear to work, although the OS will detect it and go to naturalpoint and download a driver for it.

I've got the 32-bit version and a key, btw, but simply haven't gotten around to installing it on something.

I really suspect that it would prove more suitable as a testbed for P3.

Good luck on your adventure!

A quick question for the brethren...

Why the heck does my post directly above indicate that it was last edited by someone named acrisman??? :help:

Yeah.....I just got through downloading 32-bit. Think I'll take a look at it first.......not in any big rush. Thanks for wishing me luck.....hopefully there won't be a need for any....lol.

Cheers Mate,

(P.S) It's a forum glitch that reared it's ugly head right after The Big Crash Of 08.

Ivanmoe,

Not only that but if you look at the date edited, he has done well to edit it in 2005?

Thanks

Think I may just get all adventurous and set up a dual-boot arrangement when I get the time.

This is frightening to say the least - having seen the differences of the way apps behave on XP and Vista and sweated through that - and now Windows7 is coming along - I wonder if apps have to be modded for this as well?

MS are killing the continuity of app support with Vista lets hope they get back on track with 7 what runs on XP should run on Vista (nope not always) and should run on 7 (maybe?) - or is that a dream?

Consoles have never looked so appealing as now...bring on that X-Box!!!

Definitely a dream. I strongly suspect Wild Bill prefers to deal in nightmares. Besides....he wouldn't wanna' deprive you of the 7 million hours of work it would take to make P4 and TrackIR compatible with 17 different versions of 3 different operating systems. (Did I say P4???? I did see you mention it in another thread somewhere, so it was you that opened that can...not me....lol)

One thing I can tell you. If you can make BHaH andTrackIR PS3 compatible, I'll throw my PC in the garbage. Microsoft can't even put together a reliable console. Ever hear of the "Red Ring Of Death"??? And no.....it has nothing to do with hot, spicey foods.

Yeah and that is even before you add in the variability of PC platform hardware - gulp...

P4 ??? hmm never heard of that ;)

Forget about Windows. They were a mistake all along. They are well known (they are notorious to be precise!:faint:) for their instability, vulnerability and crappy data managing. The best solution for PCs is of course Linux. Linux's drawback is games though. My hopes are on THIS project.
Ohterwise...if you got the dough,go for a MAC.
Microsoft commited suicide when they released Vista. Hell this is the worst OS ever!
Damn I always hoped that Sir Clive would make a cool OS for PCs :d.
