Can anyone who has windows7 64bit. take screenshots or is it just me who cant.I have fraps but keep forgetting to switch it on, Also can anyone use the MOS. editor with this OS.

Known Problem

Funny, when I first got my Win7 computer, Print Screen from CFS3 to Paint worked as normal.

I updated my video card and power supply, and then I noticed it stopped working.

I already had Full Fraps installed so I changed the screenshot button to Arrow Down.

I'm with you on the fact "it is broken", and I'd much rather have things "old school" too.

This is a known issue with Windows 7 (even a leftover problem from Vista maybe?).

Sadly for all my internet searches there is no solid solution other than 3rd Party Software.

Or learn to use the Windows 7 Snipping Tool, which from initial pokings isn't very good either.

I haven't worked with .Mos files yet, but I presume the problem is related to this issue.

It may not be a specific OS problem at all. My set-up goes through periods when the screenshot thingy doesn't work, and I'm on XP Sp3. I suspect MS updates...

Actually, it's most likely to be a Dot Net thing. My Dot Net was giving trouble - updates wouldn't install. The mos editor depends on Dot Net to fuction. I didn't have trouble with the mos editor, but I suspect there might be a link.

Thanks for the heads up guys, Its just one of these things that i wonder is it just my pc. or is it a global problem. i am a great believer in "if it aint broke then dont fix it" MS it seems are not, still i suppose they must know what they are doing ????.

Windows Snipping tool is what you want, it's included with Win7 and Vista. It's not nearly as good as Hyper Snap 6 - not anywhere as good - but it's free.

If I can find the post about capturing dialogues properly I'll post the link. edit here's one:- http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Use-Snipping-Tool-to-capture-screen-shots - expand the item "To capture a snip of a menu".

Oh, and the .mos editor needs Managed DirectX which last saw the light of day as an add-on for DirectX 9. If you can get that to work with Win7 I'll no longer have a compelling reason to retain XP.
