Any idea how to get CFS1 to just install in Win7 Ultimate??? It opens to a blank screen then says not responding.
Got all other Sims working and the same disc installs fine on my Win 7 Home Edition ok....

Sorry but, i cant understand why ! I dont think would be something about win7 problem. Try to uninstall all that u have installed, (even deleting folder by folder by file) and install the game in other root like C:\ (not into program files).
good luck!

Maybe try going into Windows explorer, going to the drive and starting the .exe file from there ??

I've tried that even copying to desktop still same results. It must be something in Ultimate. Go figure... I gave up

Thanks

okay, good one. i'm perplexed.

first, let me qualify, i do not have w7 ultimate.
i didn't even know there was such a thing.
be that as it may, reading your post, i'm seeing,
"I can get it to play I want to install it." right?
sorry, but this doesn't make sense.
how do you get it to play?
does it auto start or what?

just for the heck of it, try this;
assuming that the disk is in D:\
from my computer, or whatever it is in w7,
open, not auto play, the combat flight simulator disk,
scroll down to the combatfs.exe and click on it.

let us know what happens.

I found a fix online and changed the config file and it started the game off the disc I guess
how do you get it to play? Doesn't now
does it auto start or what? It will autostart,but when the screen comes up as in pic, that is where it stops

Already tried that does the same thing

It works fine on my older pc with plain Win7 Home
I talked to a computer tech and he told me to try all the above also

Here is a update....

Installed on other pc (Win7 Home),copied folder to this pc (Win7 Ultimate). Folder is on desktop ,but can't install to a drive. I can run it with disc in ,acts really strange. Running under win98.

What if I copy all the planes and missions, could they be converted up to CFS2???

Works for me

I have separate HDD dual install XP & W7 Ultimate and keep CFS1-3 on XP (F8 to select hdd).

Just tried CFS1 onto W7Ultimate, it wouldn't autostart so opened up the cd scrolled down to the bottom and clicked setup.exe it then installed fine. The problem I had was getting it to uninstall, either through control panel or ccleaner. Clicking on uninstall only removed the uninstall option not the program. Had to simply delete the program from the program files and do a clean up to clear all registry bits etc. left behind.

Hope this helps, if you come back to see it.
