Microsoft is doing it to us again! A just saw the announcement on the release of beta testing versions of Windows 7 early next year. Microsoft wants to have the full blown public version in computers within the next two years. They said it is pretty much just like Vista but a cleaner more hassle free version. Do you want to know what the biggest gripe of Vista is according to Microsoft? The User Account Manager! People can't stand it popping up all the time! (Hey how about turning it off!) But here is the great part! It's still going to be there but only pop up every so often you try and change something on your computer. (Again-How about turning it off!)

I thought Bill Gates retired!?

For some reason, upon hearing this, a famous quote sprung onto my brain, the quote originated with the 'Construction Battalions' of WWII, better known as the SeaBees. "The difficult we do right away, the impossible takes a little longer" :kilroy:

From what I understand, and it isn't truth until the end product is out, but Windows 7 won't have a bunch of "bundleware" wrapped up in it, and it is supposed to be a leaner os than Vista (bloatware). It's also supposed to be less of resource hog than Vista. (2 gigs of memory just to run it):isadizzy:

I have gotten used to Vista, as it was the only version of Windows I could get in 64 bit at the time, and since M$ said they were dropping support for XP, I didn't want to be in the same corner I was in with 98se.

The UAC is very easy to deal with. It takes a few minutes to open the Control Panel, and User Accounts, then go to turn off UAC, and do it. It took a couple days to figure out all the settings the way I wanted them, but like anything new, one has to get familiar with it. But since then, Vista for the most part runs like XP the way I have it set up.

Here's a link if you want to tweak Vista, or if you have XP. Good setup options for running a stremlined version of the os. Even with the safe settings, you'll see an improvement.
