Statement as of 3:51 AM PST on November 09, 2012

... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 6 PM this evening to noon
PST Saturday above 4500 feet...

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a Winter
Storm Warning above 4500 feet for heavy snow... which is in effect
from 6 PM this evening to noon PST Saturday. The Winter Storm
Watch is no longer in effect.

* Elevation... the Winter Storm Warning is for elevations above
4500 feet.

* Snow levels... lowering to 5000 feet this afternoon... and around
4000 feet late tonight into Saturday.

* Snow accumulations... 3 to 6 inches above 4500 feet with local
amounts of 6 to 12 inches on the higher peaks.

* Locations include: Cuyamaca... Mount Laguna... Ranchita

* winds... areas of west winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph.

* Visibility... reduced at times in heavy snow... blowing snow...
and fog.

* Impacts... residents and travelers into higher elevations in
the mountains should be prepared for hazardous winter weather
conditions and possible Road closures. If possible... carry
chains and take extra food and clothing. This weather could
be deadly for unprepared campers or hikers.

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to monitor
the latest forecasts.

snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in
an emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight...

its was in the mid 80s on wednesday afternoon (11-7),yesterday the high was 55 or so,and rain,with snow to 3000ft,at my house right now(11-9),,1300ft,its 37F,and its snowing at the 2000ft level according to calfire
