yup DH.98 as in mossie..... tail ribbing done, left fuselage decals.... also done onto the left wing then mirror and adjust for the right then i move inside the thing... she's still a great freeware mossie even now... attachments show current phase work.... still a long way yet but i'll keep y'all posted :salute:

If that's the Bruno I think it is are you going to be able to do that. If I remember right he didn't want any thing done to any of his stuff, that was way back in my CFS1 and 2 days.

From the original Readme:

"This aircraft may be uploaded to another site, re-textured, and re-posted as long as proper credit is given to Gryphon Aviation and this readme is included. We would appreciate a note letting us know what modifications you have made and where you've re-posted it."

You're most likely thinking about a different Bruno that left the simming world after some flair up or another. The one who did the Mossie that Smoothie is painting is a different person and is very open to his planes being repainted, modified, what not as long as he is given credit for making the plane.

ok then.... just about to start external weathering, decals....on, ribbing..... on, lines and panel line shadows/fasteners... on..... definately weathering time!

The Mosquito is done by Bruno Escaravage. The Bruno you are referring to is Bruno Duffort.

Nice to see someone taking Brunosk's dH98 Mossie under their wing. I have flown this Mosquito with Australian colors for just about ever. The Aussie repaints were done by a bloke who goes by "AGAS5" and they are very nice. It'll be an even nicer treat to have some additional textures for this plane. The WIP shots look great!

Can't help wondering if the weathering is a bit 'off' for a Mossie. The wooden wings wouldn't chip paint like an aluminium wing would as the paint would soak into the wood.

I am wondering about the hard edges on the camo too. Did they use rubber mats for the Mossie when painting the camo like they did on the Spits or was it done with a spray gun free-hand? If the former a hard edge would be more correct IMHO whereas if it was the latter I would expect to see a softer, 'feathered' edge where one colour sits on top of the other.

camo currently is just a tester to gauge things out, the paint chips i can easilly sort.... but got both wings sorted (topside at least).... now the nightmare fuselage, pics show same stage, different lightning... all i need to do for the paint chips is set them to overlay and reduce the opacity a touch...

Looking good Smoothie.

Re the chips. The plywood surfaces were covered in canvas, then doped twice, the second layer was aluminium dope. Then the paint was applied atop. So possibly the chips could happen. This method applied to fuselage and wings.

Looking forward to them,
Jamie

Ahh OK I wasn't aware of the canvas/dope stage so it could be possible to chip one layer of paint off I guess.
