WIP-SectionF8 Sabre- Boomerang

Keeping on the tradition of doing oddball variation repaints, I started on the F-86 used in Operation Boomerang based on the excellent SectionF8 Sabre. As many of you might know this F-86, flown by John Conroy, flew from California to New York and back during daylight hours. I attempted to model the modifications of covering the front gun ports and other sheet metal work they utilized to eliminate drag. I am still on the fence about the boomerang logo as I am having a hard time finalizing on a color since I am working with black and white photos. I have a few more changes to make so it should be ready by the weekend.

Sure. I planned on doing one anyway since all I would have to do is remove some of the layered elements. Here's a photo of some examples. So many schemes!!

Ya, the checkerboard is nice. I think I will model the two planes closet to the camera there on the ramp at Van Nuys.
