Witchcraft and Nine-O-Nine...

To all,

Even though she won't let me take the kids, I am going to Norwood airport (about 15 miles southwest of Boston) to see the Collings foundation's Consolidated B-24J Liberator "Witchcraft" (I believe) and the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress.

I haven't done this in a long time, and of course I will provide pics. These two WWII beauties will be in the area until Monday.

Hey guys,

Before a six year-old accidentally sat on my camera while I was switching positions inside of the B-17 'Nine-O-Nine,' I got about eighty-five pics of the B-24J "Witchcraft" and the B-17. So, a friend will send me the pics of the interior of the B-17 that I didn't get. (I got the cockpit, the autopilot panel, and the bombardier's position)

So enjoy a few pics, guys! (I replaced my camera on the way home)

And some more...(the last batch)

I hope you all enjoy! (Hopefully, my friend will send me more interior B-17 shots!) :ernae:

Before it was Witchraft, it was unpainted and was "The Dragon and His Tail"
Unfortunatly too many snotty-nosed women took exception to the nude nose art so it was painted to become "Witchcraft". Here's couple of pictures I took a couple of years ago when the planes appeared at Rochester, New Hampshire's Skyhaven Airport.
I personally liked it the way it was. But I guess the women couldn't take the competition.

Helldiver,

I figured as much, a couple of us were speculating on the change of designation. I guess body parts just aren't "PC" anymore. But let's not go off on that tangent, let's just let all the fellows enjoy the pics. :icon29:
