okay guys, got permission to upload these. I've converted them from CFS2 to FS9 library objects, placeable by EZScenery, Rw12, etc. Currently running through testing and taking screenies for you guys. Then the readmes.

I've managed to get his ships in there to, I'll try to do other CFS2 ships afterwards, Usio, Collin, VN, etc, permissions depending. I'll take requests if you can get me permission (proof required), probly easier to get it myself, lol.

Now the conundrum, I've made two versions of some objects, ships and factories, one with smoke from the chimneys, one without. The only effect I had that worked okay was 'fx_ChimneySmoke.fx', anyone any idea where it comes from? I'd like to include it, but haven't been able to track it down, it's not FS9, CFS2 or Golden wings.

I sent 'betas' out (Cees, Ian & steve) did you guys get them? I know you did Ian (don't add them to your scenery yet, some have changed).
First test batch, Wolfi's Docks (objects are grouped by function, not by original upload)

I got them thanks Jamie, and tested them earlier today. I have been tweaking some other stuff and will send it you way in the next couple of days. What we need now are some ww2 era ships to populate the docks. I have tried to get some ships done but had problems getting them converted to work in EZ scenery.

Steve

Steve,

if you have any in mind, let me know, I'll get to them next(ish, lol). Can't guarantee they'll work, but I'm a devil when it comes to bending things to fit. Comes from my converting things from FS9 to CFS2 days, fair means or foul, it's all good. I hadto pull some trickery on Wolfi's ships to get them to work, quietly confident it'll work with others..

Jamie

Looking forward to this. I can see some new additions to Merc Air's top secret HQ south of London.

Sorry Jamie, didn't test them yet. I'm a bit slow. I don't have EZscenery btw. That's another one from abacus isn't it? Is there another freeeware progy that wil do the same? (I think I see one of Wim's Fokkers in your sky!)

Cees

Ive been playing with mine, esp love the shipwrecks, thanks again Jamie and Wolfi, look forward to the final release.
cheers ian

Jamie

Was it one of the effects that came with Naji's Bush Scenery for fs2002? He included several effects with his sceneries, and a few of them did get converted for fs9 use...

I use Wolfi's scenery objects all the time in CFS 2. They are most useful and they will be great addons to enhance FS 9.

For military scenery, he has made a very detailed set of tanks and other army vehicles from Japan, Germany and the USA.

Cees,

don't worry, it wasn't a real beta test, just early releases for you guys that helped me :d. The objects are just FS9 library objects and should work with any object placer program, EZScenery/Instant scenery/Rwy12/etc. (anything that can place objects, not sure of all their names, anyone?) My only problem is I've just sorted out the EZsecnery names so they aren't listed as GUID numbers, have no idea how to do it for the rest of the proggies as I don't use them. The EZS one is just a text document listing GUID and descriptions, so should be fairly easy to adapt.

Yes, it's Wim's lovely Fokker, flying over a nice sand dune edge on Texel just beside the lighthouse. Haven't really been flying anywhere else recently :d

Astoroth,

maybe, but I don't have that scenery, maybe I picked up a converted version from somewhere, so at least it seems it can be distributed with other freeware. Would it be acceptable to include with a condition of editing if the unknown author steps forward with objections. Or does anyone have a nice freeware source. I initially thought it was from one of Bill Lyons packages, the one with a village on a plateau, forget which one that was. I'll keep digging.

thanks for the help,
Jamie

Jagd,

all of Wolfi's buildings, ships and vehicles will be included. The pics are just the first batch of dock objects.

Argggh, suddenly I see visions from a complete Rotterdam harbour to go with Waalhaven. IJmuiden as landmark for a flight from Bergen to Waalhaven or Ypenburg to bomb these fields with Wim Regeer's Fokker C.X Naval ships in Den Helder to complete the scenery form de Kooy and the airfields at Texel.....

Thanks Wolfi and Jamie, sorry Cees :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

Huub

Well the next step is indeed Den Helder, with the Hr.Ms. Johan Maurits van Nassau sailing from there to Kornwerderzand! But anyone who can contribute to Holland May 1940, please do! I like the vision you're sketching Huub!

An interesting thing about the medium docks is the cranes, crates & oil drums are modeled at the right height to just place on them wherever you like. You can also lower them in EZScenery if you want them on the ground, can't vouch for other apps.

Cees, I'm kinda limited on the scenery front, but I'll volunteer to help where possible. And I'll try and keep some objects coming if they are of use.

Jamie

Okay, I found a chimney smoke I can use, going to need to recompile everything again though, plus Steve has pointed out some repaints of Wolfi's ships, would be nice to include them. Going to need permissions though and to figure out how to turn the textures used (with same names) into usable single folder textures. Nothings ever simple is it, lol.

Jamie

Things have a habit of not going smoothly, such is life. Whilst the objects appear when used in the placer scenery, they are not present when the sim is reloaded, gotta check up on that. Buildings and ships seem okay, forests, vehicles and bridges do not. Anyone with a 'beta' confirm this?

Jamie

Hi Jamie, just done a quick test, placing some random objects from the files you sent me, into one of my projects with EZ, closed the sim and restarted, everything show'd up fine for me, no problems.
cheers ian

I have experienced this problem when trying too add ezscenery objects too some addon airports ( non defualt). It happens at some addon scenery but not all, I tried to add some luftwaffe ground vehicles too lionhearts stuttgart and when i rebooted the sim nothing that i added showed up, yet when i added some vehicles too his desert airbase no problems at all. I have added some mig 17 and vehicles too the calclassics Nrth Korean bases and have encounted no probs either. Cannot figure out why some scenery allows and others do not.

Steve

I think the problem is maybe to do with the type of exclude used in some scenery. I know when creating excludes in AFX you get a choice of what to exclude, library objects being one of those. It makes sense as the missing objects where those closest to the addon scenery.

I moved house a bit and all was well, adding them in open country. It may have to do with scenery hierarchy too, I think EZ defaulted to the addon scenery folder which was lower priority to the added on scenery.

Anyway, some pics of the rest. Industry, Infrastructure, residential, vehicles and vegetation.

The dock stuff will take a little longer as there are more texture variations than I thought :isadizzy:
