World Update IX

I put in a ticket some time ago, asking Asobo to look at the Polish cemetery at Monte Cassino. Hopefully it has been done - we shall soon see.

btw. Savoia-Marchetti S.55 (Local Legend IV) will be released with Marketplace updates not Today but this Thursday. :pop4:
 
Why, oh WHY do I try to update on day one!?!? First try, less than a Gig to download, starts looping at 5%. Now I'm on #2 and downloading 13GB! :banghead:
 
Update went smooth. Allready did some sightseeing and it´s a real improvement for Italy.

Only downside is an unfortunately very vissible problem with oversized and way too dense trees within the new photogrammetry cities. It does not affect those cities with default autogen though. But e.g. Torino looks like a place somewhere in the peruvian jungle:banghead:.

WU9 problem

Following WU9 the search bar will locate airports and coordinates but not handcrafted POI's.:dizzy:
Is there a setting that controls this?
 
Major problems on the Xbox side...seems the update has caused CTD's for nearly every Xbox user. Asobo is aware and is working on a fix. I don't have an Xbox, but unfortunately this update is causing the same thing for me. Empty community folder and still constant CTD's this morning. Trying a complete reinstall to see if that helps.

For those of you who are using REX Accuseason with "small" tree size selected, do you also get the oversized trees in the photogrammetry cities ? Or is it already fixed by REX trees ?
 
Thanks for the link. Allready found it and it works like a charme.

Even with Bijans trees the problem was severe and really spoiled the flying experience.

I posted the POI problem earlier and have since noted no SOH viewers reporting this. Neither has anyone else at forums.flightsimulator.com that I have noticed. I emptied the community file snd did an uninstall/reinstall of MSFS. The POI problem persists. The problem is that the search for any POI returns nothing. I can, however, select a POI from the map but is not a total substitute for the search feature when the name is known.


I doubt ASOBO would respond to a fix ticket since it probably would be a singular request. A previous ticket reporting the lack of a tower at KSDF, Louisville's major airport, soon after the MSFS release, never was fixed. After deleting a KSDF substitute to verify that the default KSDF tower was still missing, the substitute was reloaded. The photo below shows the bizarre result. However, another uninstall/install of the substitute scenery fixed the problem.


Sometimes we find solutions, sometimes not. With the ever-changing MSFS we are kept on our toes fearing the appearance of a new sim failure that may not ever be fixed. MSFS is great but imperfect.:mixed-smiley-010:

Rome Landmarks by Prealsoft is currently discounted. I don't usually fly with photogrammetry on. Does anyone know if this addon duplicates any of the default Rome POI from WU9? Does it add much (for a non-photogrammetry user)? Any perspectives welcome...
 
Orbex KBUR scenery appeared as photogrammetry. Noticed an update for it and downloaded. Now KBUR shows as default.:banghead:
