I assume if you already have the ORBX New Zealand mesh installed, it should be removed? Guess I will soon find out.

Jorg mentioned that Holger did both the Orbx NZ mesh and the WU:NZ mesh so... maybe? I would hope they are compatible but haven't had a chance to test it yet.

Dev´s mode auto-hide off

Installed.
Lost auto-hide function in "dev´s mode" bar. Used it to chang planes during flights.
Present but inoperative, wonder why....

Holger indicated in the ORBX forum that the only difference would be how the LOD is handled between the 2 meshes. I've now run both simultaneoiusly, and separately, and cannot find any difference. So i have moved the original ORBX mesh to a backup folder for now. The freeware Milford Sound I had downloaded from FS.to some time ago is buggered however. So that has been deleted until they make an update.

I busted out laughing when the bugged TBM flew across the screen. I guess Asobo forgot they still need to fix the external registration on that model!

Is it me or do i hear a certain resemblance to the Lord of the Rings music, certainly in the beginning. I'd say a nice touch.. ;-)

The scenery looks out of this world. Not sure if i will be able to take it in VR without losing my sanity...

NZ has always been a favourite flightsim playground.
This really ups the ante.
And there are plenty of other addon toys to put in there:

Queenstown (as expected)

Wellington

Christchurch (Newly released for the occasion).
The detail and texturing is top rate

Auckland is there of course, and many other spots to visit and play.
Yes LOTR too if you have a moment :)

And don't forget a selection of small cropdusting airfields to utilize the last year released Pacific-Aerospace-750, aka Fletcher/Cresco (with a few mods)

https://forum.orbxdirect.com/topic/...ace-750-xstol-for-microsoft-flight-simulator/

How exiting would *that* be ! https://youtu.be/loy2n8s_l00

(my gut feeling says fat chance, my gut question : why ?.... Wouldn't that be something off the beaten path finally ? I mean, all ingredients are there, just needs some enthousiastic input. Orbx get on the NZ fertilizing trail. What more motivation and inspiration do you need ? I know you can do it ! )

P.S. @ Wing_Z: didn't we have some mutual interest loooong time ago ?.... Your avatar looks so familiar.. Nice screenies too ! :)

Thanks Jan, yes our paths would have crossed back in the day - I was involved in mainly NZ-focussed little projects. Repaints, AI injection, a bit of scenery. Not anywhere in your league though!
That's a brilliant clip, and we had that stuff in FS9 with remote airfields, AI Fletchers, and dumping effects.

A little fertiliser spreader effect for this one would not be out of place:

Taieri from Robin Corn

And we've had parachute effects before, too. A little meatpack would really complement this one:

Mount Cook

Thanks Wing_Z ! Beginning to remember now ! :encouragement:

That was a lotta fun ! When Orbx released their PAC P-750 it immidiately brought back memories of that wonderful Fletcher model in FS9 and learn about the amazing cropspraying work that they do there in NZ. To be honest i think it's hard to believe Orbx (that is NZ based for Pete's sake !) doesn't do anything with that fact other than release a modern version of that epic Fletcher/Cresco and leave it at that... And that's from a dedicated flightsimmer from one of the flattest countries in the world ! ( i'd almost say 'shame on you' Orbx ! :mixed-smiley-027: )

In fact my hands are itching to get to work on a bunch of these small cropspraying airfields myself, i mean how hard can it be ? But i promised myself with the arrival of MSFS not to get involved again and just enjoy flying it. Now that i jumped off the VR fence and got a HP Reverb G2 i am so glad i did ! ;)

I just flew around the North Island in the Caribou in VR and it was truly incredible ! Both the New Zealand scenery and Caribou as well, best and most enchanting flight ever since i'm in VR ! :eagerness:

Take care, mate !

Cheers,
Jan

PS. Love your NZ screenies ! :applause:

Just a heads up for anyone whose sim freezes when launching a flight from NZGS Gisborne - FSBirds by South Oak Co is the culprit. South Oak Co have identified the issue and are releasing an update asap, meanwhile uninstall any or all FSBirds packages if you're flying to or from NZGS Gisborne.
