I was looking at some screenies of Yanco's Midway and Coral Sea add-ons and was wondering if any similar packages were available for europe.

Just curious, but is there anything out there for FS9 or do you have to go to CFS2?

Thanks

There are a few freeware ww2 Allied bases for europe, by Cees and Ian Elliot too name a couple, the only German bases I know of are payware by lionheart creations in the operation valkerie pack, which also comes with aircraft both fly and AI, a Uboat and a kubel to drive/sail ariound in. I can highly reccomend the whole pack.

Try these CFS2 chain home/low radar towers, they work okay in my GW3, somewhat dependant on mesh though.

Also these fire and searchlight effects by Shessi.

Also IIRC there are some GW3 bonus packs that had Hawkinge with Spits and Hurris doing circuits. Try here, under update or extras, forget which.

Plus Gary20 did some British fields.

The now Freeware AS Wellington came with a field,Kemble? but think it is now available separetly at their freeware site. Now remember that their Swordfish came with a carrier in Scapa, not sure if it's in the freeware release. Yup, it's included an is Amastra

IIRC there's also a 'Dams Raid' scenery file at one of the CFS 2 'fan sites'; includes flight plan;
searchlights and flak effects and improved models of the 3 dams themselves.

Ask over at Cbfsim; someone there will know

Although the flak and searchlights are pretty good, the drawback to anything at night is that the towns below remain lit up just as in peacetime.

One of the best WW II add ons is Operation Valkyre by Lionheart. It comes with several flyable airplanes including the Me 323 Gigant as well as a drivable kubelwagen. Scenery includes Europe and North Africa and a well organized campaign starting out as a trainee pilot east of Berlin.

I also heartily recommend both Ian's and Cees Donker's WWII airfields.

Being on the subject of Mr Lionheart, grabhis Bugatti air racer pack, includes some period scenery and some drivable cars too.

It's now FREE, which is a Brucey Bonus. It's in the archives here I think.

Also Robert Sandersons Sea Hurricane includes carrier scenery if that's more what your after.

Brucey Bonus...Jamie, that cracked me up, too much afternoon telly..;)

Dave,
Re-still lit problem. I spend a lot of my time flying in the dark, so did as much as possible to create that 'blackout' look. I removed the _lm textures from the textures folder and darkened the building window lights, creating pretty good darkness.

These pics are at and over Tegel, so this is Berlin in blackout. If you look at the pic at base, the windsock and beacon lights are still there, and to the left you can just see darkened windows.

Cheers Shessi

Hey Mark,

can't beat them, lol. Thanks for the lights and fires, great stuff. Remember back when I started tinkering with CFS2 adding Martin Wrights API searchlight all over the place, nothing accurate, just around some bases and cities, loved those days, super-smashin' they were. ;)

Jamie, yes I do!
Spent ages getting the Kammhuber line as accurate both in layout and location, I promised Jagd ages ago I'd do Stettin (haven't forgotten!). Gius is 'building' Berlin(!!) for CFS2, it will be a FR killer but will fit in Fs9.

Richard,
Sorry to hi-jack the post a little. Jagd and Jamie's suggestions are spot on, it will get Fs9 on it's way to WWII better than anything else.

The Bugatti Pack is awesome!

I have the Bugattis' for CFS2(just planes) and the FS9 Bugatti Adventures Package. They are both great! I put exhaust flames and moving stick and throttles onto my CFS2 planes.
