WWII in HD: The Air War

SOH-CM-2025
For those who have the History Channel, just a heads-up if you didn't already know, that there is a new, 2-hour long special premiering tonight, a follow up to the channel's WWII in HD series. From what I recall reading, the show presents footage and stories of the 8th Air Force during WWII - and according to some articles, a lot of the footage has only been seen rarely in public, or not yet at all. I've personally been really looking forward to it!

i was trying to watch it but its all pixelated and broken up on my system..dont know if its directv or what..but its so bad i cant watch it..had to settle for a rerun of americas most funny or whatever ya call it

Was watching this ...of course as Simmers, and aviation buffs, and generally students of history...seeing it is not with out great sadness.also...lot of kids getting killed.in living color!...over 100,000 in the Air war over Europe.....I'm sure many have have had relatives who were there and never came back....I rememberer the nightly news papers then,I was 12 or 13,then,wondering if uncle's were coming back!..EXTRA,EXTRA,the losses in those raids...double digit triple digit,.Day Light Bombing was almost cancelled!...its no movie this it was life....and now thinking of the civilians...all civilians...many of these now old men remember , the old B-17 ,crews, the B-25 crews, the B-24 crews the Thunderbolt,Lghtning and Mustang pilots, old guys now,and it still haunts those who are left, all with misty ,far away look ,now! they may be thinking of that small kid in the belly, ball turret, gear stuck ,belly landing ..I know I sound serous ..but it was!!!!It an't fun watching kids die!!.....we call that Generation the Greatest, and they died in the greatest numbers!!........Worth seeing this ,it is like yesterday, and not some 67yrs ago! The Mighty 8th!!.......Not many of those guys left!!
