WWII Music for ETO CFS2 Immersion Missions

WWII Music for Immersion for CFS2

Not being gifted with the skills many have for making planes or other add ons here is a contribution from me for our immersion in CFS2.

From the WWII era, one of the things that can bridge the years from now back to that time is the music that those who fought and faced the dangers of war in the air and on the ground and at sea listened to off duty and sometimes on, on grampahones on subs, ships, and even aloft. There are mods that add a CD player as a guage to a panel that allow you to play these on the way to a mission goal, as i like to fly in real time this helps me and my "crew" on the way to Germany for a bombing run or a long mission across the ocean. I have uploaded hundreds of songs, and marches from the two major ETO combatents, the UK and Germany and hopefull may be able to add some for France and Japan and others. The First archive is up and live and i will links for the others as they go live.

German Music from WWII
Authentic actual recordings of popular and patriotic songs and music from Germany from the era 1939 1945, these include solos and chorus beer hall songs of all kinds, sentimental and patriotic. A moving reminder of the culture of the time of a nation at war. Includes the famous song Lili Marlen that was so popular on both sides at the front in the desert in Africa that when it came on the radio sung by a famous singer of that time every night, both sides would cease combat to listen.

British Music
George Formby, Ray Noble, Vera Lyne, Ruth Etting, Noel Coward and more are in this large selection of popular music, dance tunes and vocals from the United Kingdom at war in WWII. Music and popular
entertainment in music halls and dance clubs was a major source of release and entertainment for the airmen, sailors and soldiers of that era and formed a significant part of their daily lives. These are all
from the public domain and are all historic and accurate from that era.

Fantastic, Chris!
I agree, I think background music adds so much - some of my favorite soundtracks - Empire of the Sun, Band of Brothers, Pearl Harbor, Ken Burns' The War, period music like you have uploaded, the list goes on!

Nice going!
