Across the vast reaches of the Pacific, on planes, ships, subs, at bases, and in battles on both sides, airmen, sailors, soldiers and Marines listened and loved the music of their times. Veterans I have in my family and who i have talked to have shared how much it meant to hear the music and the voices from home, before and after battle, and during the long long times at sea, on duty when day after day, the war consumed every scrap of time and energy save a precious few that were spent with the radio or gramaphone, for both the US forces and the Imperial Japanese Army and Navy. These sounds from that time will help bring that to us here and now.

Authentic recordings of Glem Miller, Jimmy Dorsey,Woody Herman, Tom Pastor and their orchestras, Bing Crossby, Gene Autry, Les Brown, Lena Horne, the Andrews Sisters and many many more, singing as they did in 1941, at home and for airmen, sailors and soldiers in the vast reaches of the Pacific. These were the songs that were played in Hawaii, and at sea, during those challenging times. All from the public domain and in authentic recordings of that era.

these guys and so many more on both sides gave their all. It is a privledge to have a chance to see and experince some of what they faced back then, in CFS2, and thanks to all of you guys who do so much to make this such a great experience.

Had to find and install a cheap (free) WinRar and then figure out how to use it my usual way...without reading directions.
Definitely worth the trouble...thanks a lot Cris!
 
I'm currently playing with the "install cd tuner" function of ZoneAid 2.0. I'll see if I can get the songs into some of my planes.
 
Wonderful stuff Cris, thanks loads. I'm going to slip a tune into a little feature that plays ambient sounds after engine cut-off and head over to the mess for some chow after a flight. All I need is a hint of that aircraft smell and I'm there.
I used a free unzipper called jZip and three or four clicks later had them all.
 
glad you guys are enjoying the tunes. I saw this great radio panel by Agas and thought maybe it might be set up for the bombers at least with a CD player of some kind, i dont know how to install it yet, but here is the info and the download linkey here:

and i saw in CaptnMercy's great Sunderland vid that he has a great radio room set up and maybe that is the same kind of thing as he was playing some great music, i think it was a Tokyo Rose broadcast. :)

WW2 music

This is great ... thanks to all who has post this links..., personally I like very much music and meanwhile I'm playing with cfs2, or cfs3, I like listen music of that age, it doesn't matter the country they come from, allies, axies..., I hope none gets upset... but Why don't Soh put a special files for music related or which sounded during the WW2...? I imagine than some songs have rights, but other no, they are public... some of us, besides to fly we like history... anyway, it's just an simple idea..
