This is an experiment in making high-detail 2048x2048 .dds textures for the WWII P-51D (following Jankees' example) while we await the new FSX 'genuine article' from A2A. I've put together a 'texture.shared' .dds folder that resolves the 'holes' in the cockpit and gives a very lo-viz prop texture that works adequately in FSX. Stencilling is as accurate as I can find (I suspect that individual a/c had a variety of maintenance stencils that probably altered over the last year of the war) and based on photos of a range of restored and museum Mustangs, especially 44-13317 at the RAF Museum at Hendon, London. FPS look OK - better than a straight port-over.
