WWII Vehicles

Not sure if Valkyrie is still available, it isn't on Bills site anymore. :¬(

Also BrunoSK has some nice boats and bikes, etc for CFS2 that might work?

I've got Valkyrie with the Kubelwagen, and downloaded Piglet's truck this morning.

What I was looking for was a Willys Jeep for exploring Midway Island scenery and other RAF and AAF European scenery. I just downloaded and installed Gary's Willy's Jeep, added a sound file, and it fits the bill nicesly.

I take a look at the others and see if there is anything else. Be nice to have a complete package with sounds and VC.

A lot of the Bill Lyons packages come with vehicles. Search Flight Sim for his name.

I wrote to Bill last year when I wanted it. He doesn't sell it anymore but one of the resellers still does, unfortunately I can't remember which one it was that I bought it from

This works out just dandy....

Thanks to Gary Burns for the Willys (and John Stinstrom for the great scenery), this has opened up a whole new dimension to FS9 for me and basically solved two issues.

It's always been a challenge to determine what parking area to start from. With the jeep, I can pick any spot - then drive to anywhere on the field and switch to my a/c of choice.

After takeoff and flying to my destination, I can switch back to the jeep and do some exploring.

Wonder if these guys can point me to the Officers Club?

Driving on the roads in the FS9 scenery can be fun. In Lionheart's Valkyrie package he even included a few "flights" that have you driving the Kubelwagen around.

I love Lionheart's war time beetle..... (Volkswagen Kübelwagen or more precise Porsche Typ 82)

Simmarket still has it for sale priced at €15.46

i kinda like the good ole Willys General Purpose (GP = Gee-Pee, Jeep) though, even though i wish someone would make a Pinkie, Dinky, Snatch Rover, FFR, plain Defender 90 (With Snorkel), Defender 110 (also with Snorkel) or even a Viking, Warthog or Mastiff.... OR at a severe push the Tumbler from Batman begins :icon_lol: (Not WWII i know, but hey, they're 'war' machines)

can tell where my allegiance lies with regards to 4WD :icon_lol:

I like Piglet's British Army Chevrolet truck.

I do wish someone would do a DUKW

Wow! Great vehicles. Have a new mission tomorrow after work to get these. Thanks.

If I could clear my backlog of FSDS projects I might be able to finish my Panther. Obviously not done and no, not the textures I'm sticking with. Just playing around.

I believe Piglet updated the Chevy Truck with a better 'airfile' which made it a little more manageable. The author who goes by the name of "HAMA" also has some excellent vehicles including a "Stalwart" armored troop carrier which can go on both land and water, as well as an excellent hovercraft or two.

That author (HAMA) name is: Mitsuya Hamaguchi. There is a very nice photoreal repaint for the Stalwart too. I didn't get to this post in enough time to edit it... :icon_lol:

oh yes! a Panther would be great! then again any German Armor is good to me... always have had a soft spot for the Panther, but also for the Königstiger, Hetzer, Elefant, PzKpfW's (Panzer KampfWagen) Panzers from the Ausf.A to the Ausf.J's (Ausf. meaning Ausführung, literally/simply 'Variant) ,Tiger's etc.... the Hetzer i think is the Anti-Tank gun so ugly only a few could love it :icon_lol:

ive always like'd the idea of drivable tanks in FS9, i'll take one if you finish it, like the color also, reminds me of the Panther at the Tank museum in Bovington, Dorset, have a pic of it somewhere when i visited in the spring , i'll try to dig it out.
