    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Superbowl 49....called XLVI....it seems "Quid quid latine dictum sit, altum videtur" — "Anything stated in Latin looks important."

Not unlike the Roman games of old,Sports grip our lives.The Circus Maximus could seat over 150,000 people...to watch and bet on the chariot races....in the Colosseum,an other 90,000 people witnessed the "CIRCUS".....the similarity to our games today is astounding!..or is it our resemblance to them? Those events filled with music, entertainment,Food services,Girly bars, all creatures amenities,and the loud cheering! ..One only has to be in a Football stadium and hear the Roar of the Score!....We in some way identify with that exaltation,as we do in ignominious silence of defeat!...human Drama!..as primitive as it can get...and we LOVE it!

Till today contact sport,with blood letting is still accommodated..as any hockey,Prize fight,wrestling, soccer,sport gives us those feelings!.

I think many,not all,but many would feel at home in those Roman Arenas...they were in every city of the Roman world then...where the " Tower of London" stands today,A "Roman Arena "stood yesterday!

So today we have a great Spectacle,with all the ingredients of a Roman event.we sit in front of our TVs,or at the event in person,stuffing our selves,and drinking beer..Cheering on our heroes,and hoping they destroy the opponents....I guess in 2000 yrs,nothing has changed much!..a bit antiseptic,but still deadly!

Today " Charon" will call the teams to come out and declare the age old declaration of victory.with pomp, ceremony,smoke,fire,Noise,and 100,000 people on their feet cheering their heart out!!.....its then we are ALL ROMANS!!!! "Ave, Imperator, morituri te salutant"

Me ? I.m hoping the GIANTS,"KILL" ,the PATRIOTS!!

+1: Both teams are outdoor teams - as it should be. If both teams are natural grass teams, even better!

The end might already be written.
Just as destiny/devine provided New Orleans with a Superbowl Win to boost the city of New Orleans.....The same might happen today...

Why? --> "MHK".....

Jet traffic today in INDY!!
