...note: Tripe included due to Dec., '16 squad service start in France but bulk of action in 1917.

None of the above. I like the Pup best of all, and it ain't on the list.

SE5 Viper engine.... but I really like the Neup 17 also. Not enough ammo in that crate tho

I'm with Ricktycrate, I like the Nieuport scouts. The N.11 is top dog until the 17 hits the streets. In my opinion the N.17 would be competitive through the end of the war (in fact I think it was) but it would be on the slower end of the spectrum.

I'd love to see a Nieuport 28...

OT, but I would too.

Back on topic, I would say the Pup, but it isn't on the list. I think it should be in the 1917 list instead. Not quite a year thing but generational {N11s, Fok EIIIs, DH2's etc then Pups, Albatri, N17s, SPAD VIIs and then the later war birds Camels, Fok Tri, Fok DVII, Alb DVa}.

I love the Camels, even tho I dont fly them that well... :wiggle:

I never flew Camels in the old Phases, dk just never did; but now....wow...what an awesome aircraft for my type of flying. reminds me of a N17 on super steroids. I just don't get scared in that craft...ok well only if I have more than one DVII trying to kill me, then it is a like to a title fight. My all time longest surviving pilot drives a Camel, (by 20hrs) this fact alone convinces me its more than my luck, and a lot of help from the craft.

I'm a N11 & N17 fan :). Never could get into boom&zoom fighters.

Besides, low ammo supply on Lewis gun encourages accurate shooting ...

Oops, didn't notice the list. From the list I love the Tripe.

To quote Cecil Lewis:

"Of all machines, the Triplane remains in my memory as the best - for the actual pleasure of flying - that I ever took up. It was so beautifully balanced, so well-mannered, so feather-light on the stick... Set correctly, with the throttle about three-quarters open, the Tripe would loop, hands off, indefinitely."

Haven't acheived the indefinite 3/4 throttle hands-off looping thing with the P3 Tripe yet :faint:, but it is fun to fly...
