Another excellent point!

So if you add Cessna's license fees & costs for Bill's gauge development, is $20 really that expensive?

The project had to be approved by EMI/Textron before a license was approved. In fact, that's why Abacus contracted with me to build the panel & gauge system. The first version submitted was not approved by EMI/Textron... :gossip:

Your panels are FANTASTIC ..I might buy it just for that alone..:ernae:

I have had some Abacus planes in the past..While they were not always the most elobarate models in the world, they were always fun to fly...

For me its about the roll out, climb and slow descent into unknown areas..Not about what I fly in....

Sorry if i came off a bit harsh, but so far i have only had bad experiences with Abacus.

That's my experience with Abacus too. I have FS Repaint V2 that can't repaint 90% of FSX aircraft and to get a response from Abacus is not their way of doing things. Sorry about "You got to (be) kidding" - just a gut reaction.... I can't make a prop - properly let alone a full aircraft, gauges, or any part of parts that goes into these projects.

'Price' is subjective.
If one likes the subject then the price is not an issue, if not then the one who is not that impressed will not spend the money asked.
When it comes to my own model building business I use a base rate and add a 'scale of difficulty' figure.
Works for me, the really keen prospect is not put off and the tyre-kickers go away.

Hi all,
IMHO Abacus bashing is just sour grapes. How many of you here can actually build a model let alone the airfile etc.Yes some of it is poor quality,But some of it is really nice. Not outstanding but well worth the money.Flight Deck 5 is well worth the $29.00.Where else can you get 7 a/c plus carriers and working traps for that price.Yes the rivit counters out there may say this is missing or that is not quite right. But these products are sold for those who just want to have fun with their flightsims.
So for all you Abacus bashers out there give it a rest. The song is getting old and boring. If you think you can do better get on with it.

I think this thread has run its course....

And remember folks, we have the luxury of simply not pushing the "buy" button if we're not interested :)
