Vietnam for CFS2 Beta Release

Yes Allen you can set all of your textures, I just can not seem to find one that works to my liking. I presently use a dirt runway to make dirt roads, But want to find
a concrete road that will look like a road. I will try some of the FS2004 textures.

I see. I'm going to guess that Roads are more or less the same with Ground2K and GroundMaker. Can you screen shot what you have and what is wrong with it? Maybe I can find/make a texture that could work.

Allen,
Ground2k (CFS2) and Ground 2K4 (Fs2004) are not close to Ground maker..Airport3 ect.

Ground2K or K4 allows you to change the VTP type ( mesh) scenery in a given location.
It is basically a drawing tool that allows you to add textures or change textures in as large
or small area that you chose. You can not place macros or anything like that.

You may want to take a look, It is quite fun and a nice program

The tutorial for FS2004 pretty much applies to CFS2 with some exceptions

Find them Here:

Who knows...you may go crazy on scenery design.

Now I know why I forgot about Ground2k. Can't get past the New File part. Error this, error that. F that program! Roads should work the same as they have to use the same format or they wouldn't work in game.

Allen, The brief tutorial tells all, it is really simple to use, I promise.

Take a look at the tutorial, any questions, contact me direct:
dea14u@aol.com

You may be able to even improve some aspects of it.

Give it a shot, Please

Dave

I never should need tutorial to make a new project... F that program with a rusty spork.

I really think you should look at it Allen, You could probably even make a few improvements to it.

It is really nice being able to move and correct or create land and water masks.

Dave

The Long Bien Bridge, Hanoi is up and ready for download.
Each section is destroyable ,it is protected by 7 AA locations and includes miles of the Song Hong River
all the way back to the coast.
Includes other targets and scenery in a small local area
This is GSL scenery, Although intended for mission writers, it will appear in freeflight and quick combat.
Library object files included, No LS or LZ will show in your AFD directory
Coordinates are included in the readme file
Hope ya'll like it,
Dave

Hi Dave,

Thanks very much for this - the scenery looks great. I still have water texture where land should now be with the rerouted river. I'm obviously missing a land class file which I can't find amongst the other Vietnam downloads.

Kevin

I am a bit confused on that one, I did not add any land class, Just the river......There was no water or river at all in the original area.

Can you email me a pic maybe ?

You've answered my question Dave - I have Richard Ludowise's SE Asia & African water activated. The Song Hong River is included in that package. If I deactivate it, your scenery appears correctly.

Thanks,
Kevin

I don't care what it can do. If you can't make it past start page is is useless! I'm not leaning how to fly the damm Space Shuttle here! I shouldn't need a manual to start the damm program....

LOL.......Allen, I think that is why I like you so much,

To bad you do not live closer and/or drink beer, But if you are ever in Biloxi
I will be more than happy to boil the shrimp and offer you a cajun meal.

PS, I am more than willing to walk you thru it, only takes a 5 minute setup.

Be safe my friend,

Dave

I remember this one well. Piglet asked me to do some DP work on it during the beta stage. Got a decent panel for it too.

It seems to me I have a number of photos of a couple of Laotian T-28's, y'know the ones flown by blonde, blue-eyed Laotians. Not too many of them, not terribly sharp, but if someone is thinking about some skins along those lines, I will try and dig them out of the backup hard drive. These date back to a 1/72 Heller T-28 plastic kit build in '02-'03. Just B&W, no color, sorry.

Wayland, the effort would be mach appreciated..........Including real deal pics kinda helps with the history part of the project...Well, I think so anyway.

I included a map of locations in Cambodia in the T-28 download that shows the 133,000 bombed locations (flown by blonde, blue-eyed Laotians) That never officially happened.

Dave

Roger that. I'll also cruise the web since it's been years, there has to be a lot more pics floating around then there was 12 years ago. I remember some from "The Ravens" book, and several different articles on Air America. I need something to dosince the laptop is too clunky for flying, and the gaming desktop isn't out of the shop yet.
