Hello
Flight simmers

Shortly I get a new PC and go to win 10
Win 7 and 8 / 8.1 will soon no longer supported by Microsoft
I am afraid that FSX does not run on win 10.
I looked on the internet one says it does not run and the other says it is running
perfect. Is someone with experience with FSX and Win10

Thanks

My experience is that it runs on Win10 BUT:
- You have to enable DX10 Preview or you will get a black screen after loading a flight.
- All my ORBX lights have turned into black squares. I am still looking for clues. Steve's DX110 Fixer might do the job, I have not tried it yet (moved to Win10 only a couple of days ago).
- TacPac does not work correctly anymore. I have not re-installed it yet.

Will report back when I have some answers.

Solution for black squares in DX10 preview if you have an NVidia card: update the drivers and go back to DX9. It worked for me.

I'm running FSX (Acceleration) under Windows10, but like Dave without DX10, without any problems.

I actually think it runs better (faster) under Windows10 than it did under Windows7.

Cheers,
Huub

FSXA works with WINX for some and not for others. At this point, win7 is the best OS for FSXA imo. I will stick with that until WINX works just as well. If it never does, I will never go to WINX even if microsoft quits supporting it. A lot of people still use winXP. So what?

fsx and win10

Thanks

Flightsimmers for the info.

I will soon see whats append with Fsx and Win 10.

Greetings

I had some problems, such as the black screen, only at the very launch of win 10. It was either patched really fast by microsoft or it was some driver update I did, but all is fine now, at least here.

TacPac is running fine, but I had to reinstall it. No big deal. Before Win10 I had a black screen every time I ended a flight but that problem somehow solved itself. So I am quite satisfied with Win10.

Window 10 is not a problem for, as my Alienware BIOS will not accept it without a whole lot of work. So I will be sticking with Window 7 Ultimate until I purchase a new machine.

I have a R3 and no bios update on that model. It is well documented that the R3 and bios A06 cannot run 10.

No big deal 7 is running fine.
