FSX Firebombers

Hi,

I have been searching for Firebombers for FSX recently and last night I came across a couple of pics by chance, but I have been unable to locate a file.

Could anyone help if they know where to find this repaint or aircraft? I have the Captain Sim C-130 if it's a repaint for that.

The aircraft in question is a Hawkins and Powers C-130A, N130HP, based on the plane that tragically broke apart and crashed while fighting fires in 2002; a very sad story.

Edit:

Found it. Looks like it is for FS2004.

Thanks for the reply DaveSHQ,

I have actually found the file now in the Captain Sim C-130 free liveries section (I searched for N130HP) after a member at ORBX (whose screenshot displayed the aircraft in question) contacted me and let me know where to find it.

Thanks for the advice though, I might have to hit up Malibu43 some other time as I am on the search for all the Firebombers I can find at the moment.

Cheers,

I'll be more than happy to point to all the good ones I've found. The only actual work I've done is on a retardant effect. As far as aircraft and repaints are concerned, I just have other people's stuff from here at SOH.

where did you find the free liveries on Captain Sim's site? I just looked and can't find it myself

Hi,

I just had a moment then when I couldn't even find the Free liveries section. Found them again now!

I logged in and went to the C-130 free liveries section (go to your profile, then click on the product in your list, this takes you to an info page where you can select the free liveries section).

Once in the C-130 FSX Free liveries section just type in N130HP, and just the one result should come up.

I think the file was called
1198856058.zip, and the heading in CS liveries section was:

Hawkins and Powers C-130A. N130HP
by David Sweetman

You'll also find another Firebomber if you type N138FF in to the search box. This one is:

RC-130A HMFS Fire Bomber No.88 N138FF Textures
by Ian Capon

Scott

Thanks.

I have found quite a few now just over the past few weeks. I will have to browse through your pics and spot the ones I don't have.

You don't happen to know of any paints of these aircraft do you?:

Hi malibu43,
I need your permission to add your spectacular water retardant effect on the package of my last made model I'm almost ready to release, version 2 of the Bombardier CL415 fire bomber model for fs2004 and FSX.
I need also to ask if it's possible to modify your retardant effect to show instead a water dropping effect, which should appear white instead of red color.

Sure. Permission to both include and modify color. Just as long as it's freeware!

Request of some help for the Water drop effect

Sure. Permission to both include and modify color. Just as long as it's freeware!

I've a question about how correct placing the water effect emitter. I modified your FSX firebombers effect to show white smoke instead of red, but I have some difficulty to place the emitter in the correct position regard my CL415 model aircraft. To let you understand what I'm saying I attached two pictures showing the water dump effect when leaving the water tanks doors on the keel of the aircraft. As you can see the start position of the effect is much more higher than needed the smoke effect can be seen also above the fuselage.
The FS SDK says about the aircraft.cfg [smokesystem] section that the numbers after the smoke.0 = are the longitudinal, lateral and vertical position of the smoke emitter. But if I put the emitter according the SDK the effect is misplaced. To me seems that I misunderstand something. Can you explain how can I place the smoke effect in the right position?

The following is from the F-111 (this is for FSX only) .

Nav RED and GREEN are left and right .
Nav white is further back on the aircraft and high on the tail .
also the exhausts are left and right.

That gives you the 3 axis to position your effect.

Thanks. I just checked them out. Unfortunately I have facebookphobia, but it looks like their stuff, or at least some of it, is posted elsewhere. I found the Coulson C-130.

Thank you for the answer. I don't use lights for placing the water dump effect , but [smokesystem] in aircraft, cfg and i suspect that this last behave different from using lights as effects. However I will tray your suggestion.

Those three position aspects are the same in smoke .

I only adjust one at a time then test fly to observe that change .
Then make a more precise adjustment .

Then I adjust the next one .

Thanks for the replay,

I used your suggestion to use a light effect and I had success as you can see from the pictures attached. I used logo lights not yet used in the model instead of using a smoke effect. I placed water drop effects in the exact position in the center of each of the four tank doors present in the keel of the model. I'm pretty satisfied with this, I had only to modify the gauge in the panel that allow to release the water drop effect , but this have been only a small work though.
