Nepal Airport Scenery

SOH-CM-2026
I know there is a thread in here somewhere about this release but I have yet to track it down. Anyway, I went to Google Earth in an effort to get a better idea (visually) of where all these airports are. I wanted to make up a running flight plan but needed that visual to keep from criss-crossing paths as I made my way from the far-western region to the eastern region. Many, if not all of the airports are obviously in a very mountainous region to begin with so the less overlap the better, lol. I was able to locate all but two of the airports that "Mike Five" included in the package. The two in question were "Salley" and "Talcha". Google Earth doesn't locate either one in Nepal, but does reference a Restuarant in South Carolina, lol, lol.

Salley_is referred to as "Sallya" on other maps I checked
Talcha_is in the Rara National Park. There is a large lake there in Google Earth and the only locatable airport is just east of the lake. . .that's where I stuck the reference point. The screenie below shows the locations.

Just thought this might help others. Always enjoy flying in Nepal.

ORBX needs to do Nepal in a bad way. Even the FTX freeware airports would be nice.
I agree. I use Orbx Basic and Vector Basic and generally it does an excellent job, but in Nepal. . .ugh. I haven't been to Lukla yet in FSX, but in P3D, it's nothing at all like the actual airport both in general appearance (which isn't surprising) and in the terrain layout.

in FSX Lukla was completely wrong. Not in the right place, not in the right direction, not slopped, and not a building.
I suspect P3D scenery was exactly the same.

However... what is this Nepal Airport Scenery you are referring to in the title ?

i. . . . .However. . .what is this Nepal Airport Scenery you are referring to in the title ?
It's on Simviation. . .titled "m5_nepal_airports_v5.4"

It's a collection of 32 airports in Nepal that have had altitude corrections and enhancements to the default, including additional buildings and towers. The author has simply taken the default and spruce them up a bit and made any corrections he deemed necessary, including correcting landclass and positioning.

Thanks for the info Falcon.
And Hairyspin, I believe I tested Nepal Deluxe in the past, back in my FSX days. It was not bad, if I remember correctly... but I don't remember if it was reproducing the sloped runways...
