REX releases Wx Advantage Radar! Fantastic

Note: When I click on Buy Now, it throws a malicious site warning from Semantic. Thought some might want to know.

You need to disable antiviris when downloading and installing, its just a part of the milviz coding that causes a false ping

Well it looks a bit more modern than the Captain Sim Weather Radar Addon but I have used the Capt Sim addon for years and it works just fine, is compatible with REX weather and fits the vintage of the aircraft I am interested in and use.

Integrates into VC great with some Milviz aircraft. Some shots for you.

It does seem like a nice addon for those who fly the tubes and heavy twins. Not sure that it would be that much use for a GA flyer like myself.

Update:
REX and MV have received many requests to support FSX SP2.
We are now in the process of developing a version to support SP2.
It should be available with our next release of fixes and enhancements.
We thank you for your patience in this manner.

Works great for GA flyers, keeps you advised of the approaching weather

Except I can see the weather as I'm flying, and I'm not usually flying anyplace in particular, so I'm still not sure what it adds.

If you're flying VFR and avoiding the weather altogether, then that's understandable but if you're flying IFR and into weather areas, it is certainly a help in penetrating the weather while avoiding hidden cells. I have flown RL IFR flights in single engine GA's a number of times where I've seen the benefits of having weather radar. Once I was en-route from Norfolk to Wilmington in a C172 and popped out of one cloud bank only to see a nearly pitch black wall of clouds in front of us (with no radar). It was a typical summer afternoon buildup and we had to get vectors around one spot that quickly developed in front of us. On another occasion, I was on a flight in a C210 with radar and flying a route cluttered with storm lines. Using the radar, we safely penetrated the weather and actually managed to avoid a good bit of convection turbulence.
