I take it you can't get the PBY5A to load in Quick Combat either?

I looked at your zipfile. There are two possible errors.

Remember this is a FS2004 aircraft. The panel.cfg references FS9 gauges, so won't work. I don't think this will stop the model loading though.

The sound folder aliases to the DC3. This isn't a stock CFS2 aircraft. Replace the sound.cfg with

[fltsim]
alias=C47_Dakota\sound

This should get it to load.

I had changed the cfg file, but the model can't load?

i can't see the Plane in Quick Combat.

Hi Elsner,

I examined your zipfile. For some reason you decided to rename the air & dp files as "sim=Catalina PBY5", but didn't actually rename the airfile!:rocket: If you do this, it will definitely load ...

it works in quick combat and i can see the plane in the Aircrafts list on Mission, but he seraches and can't find the modell if i start the Mission? The game say's error loading on mission file?

I can see the Plane correct in free flight ect.

See my post earlier. The ALPHA PBY is a big, single LOD model. It took 2 goes at loading the mission for me to get it to load. If your hardware isn't up to it, you can efit the .mis file using Notepad. Change the PBY5A to PBY5 (Shessis model is multi-LOD) & the mission will load.

Okay, i had changed the Modell von Alpha with the Model from Shessi.

Can see the plane in quick combat ect. had change the Name in Missions file to your. But the Missiont won't load. The game did not find the Model?
What the ****. In Quick combat the game find the Model and i can see it but not in the Mission?
In the zip file are the changed pby with shessis modell and mission files.

I don't have the file with ATM, but I changed all of the objects, ships, aircraft I didn't have already in my test install & still got it to load!!!!

I just looked through your attached zip.

1. The mission file edit is good - don't change it.

2. The PBY aircraft.cfg is different (again).

My solution - go back to your previous PBY5A zip you linked to.

i) rename the airfile correctly
ii) change the sound.cfg so it points to the stock C47_Dakota (as above).

Make sure you exit CFS2 after any changes.

Load CFS2

Try to run the original mission 004B.
If it says cannot load PBY5A, click through, & go back to the Main Menu.
Select the mission again & try to load. This sequence worked for me.

I believe it is because the Alpha model is too large & complex & triggers some sort of time out if the mission doesn't load within a certain amount of time. Older PC hardware will suffer from this more.

If this doesn't work, try your modified mission 004B. This mission now just looks for the PBY5 object (Shessis model, which is multi-LOD), & doesn't use the ALPHA_PBY5A.

If it doesn't load, click through & try to load it again (it is a large mission with lots of objects).

If that doesn't work - give up & try flying something that does load with your hardware.:pop4:

Sry my english is not the best, it is middle and i make mistakes.

But Offtopic. I can play since today the Force Z Mission from Dasuto. Remember i had the same problem 1 year ago with the japanese claude, but thank for your tips.the mission works fine. Thanks to Dasuto for the Force Z Mission.

I Use the X key in mission for the warp to the waypoint 23 Miles nortwest of midway but, no japanese planes to see? The only message i see what "val 2 is collieded with val 3"

Im Wait/ search them for the For the First japanese Wave to shoot many if i can down .-)
happy to see that a Modder reworked the Battle of Midway and Coreal Sea Missions. The AF Missions and Coreal Sea Strike and Counterstrike are good but old :)

Warp is not enabled in most of my missions.I thought I put it in the readme.If not, I apologize. I do not include warp in most missions due to the warp bug with fuel and key events are triggered by certain activities to make it come together properly are "thrown off" by warp. My missions can be flown at 4x time.For the long range missions I will release such as PBY, heavy bombers etc that cover great distances, will include warp so playe rmay use if would like.They are designed differently so warp may be used.

In the First Midway mission..the intercept, warp is not necessary as bandits are roughly 30 minutes flight time from Midway, enough time to take off, get to altitude and intercept them 20 miles out as mentioned in the briefing.

In the second missions flying Vindicators, warp is not enabled, simply follow the mission briefing and intel instructions as well as any given during flight.Fly at 4x time, then drop to 1 when find enemy force, and will be in the action in no time.
 
Glad you enjoyed it. Did you survive? Any kills? Yes, the Japanese launched a large raid that morning, 36 D3A, 36 B5N with 36 A6M2 escorting.

I Did:t survive. A Val shoot my Buffalo Burning and i jump out but the parachut didn't open :-(

I Shoot Down 23 Japanese Planes - 10 D3A1 Val Dive Bombers and 13 B5N2 Kate Level Bombers
