Ta-154

Hi Shessi ,

My hand is up all the way , Sir .

I love the Focke_wulf Ta-154 Moskito !!!

Regards,
1150

Hi Shessi,

I wasn't very familiar with this aircraft, so had to do a little reading about it.
Used early in the war. Main purpose was to knock out the pathfinders.
Later it was replaced as Germany came up with more advanced night fighters.

She really packed some heavy armament.

Chris's model really matches the pictures shown. This one will definitely be in my hanger. :eagerness:

Thanks for putting in the time to get her into CFS2!

Dave,

Hmm....not quite, my good friend.

The Ta-154 "Moskito," as the name implies, was inspired by the deHavilland Mosquito of RAF fame. The Germans throughout 1942 had been working on a fast attack aircraft known as the Ta-211. The project was ultimately taken over by the RLM. (Reichsluftfahrtministerium) It was Göering's pet project, and stemmed from his infatuation with the British version. First flown on 1 July, 1943, the prototype flew well, and was comparable in most respects to the British version, although theirs was still found to be superior.

Ultimately, the designed failed because like the British version, the design used a phenolic resin to bond the wood together called Tego Film, and that night when RAF Bomber Command struck the German town of Wuppertal in February of 1943, they happened to destroy the Goldman factory, the only place it was being produced.

As a result, the Germans were forced to try and use substitutes and these were found to be an acidic compound that actually ate into the wood, causing structural failures. This is what ultimately killed the project, along with the Heinkel He-162 Salamader, which used the same resin compound.

But what I read has to be true. It was on the internet. :tongue-new:

I stand corrected. Thanks for the detailed history Rami. This makes it even more of an interesting aircraft.
Could have been a real advisory for the RAF. :-(

Hi Folks,
Just uploading the CFS2 version of Chris Lampard's Fw Ta154 A1 Moskito night fighter.

I've made it multi-LOD, new panels for CFS2, DP no glightstates or crashcheck etc, as DV says if they had got it right, it would have been a real worry for the RAF and the Mosquito NF boys.

Cheers

Shessi,

The German Mosquito is a real looker, except the elevators don't seem to move for me.

Ahhh B**&^%!! totally my fault grrr!, that's going between FSX and CFS2 for you, thanks for spotting it (I will of course send my 'testers' to the salt mines for a short spell! Ha!, only joking, down to me!)

Uploading revised model as we speak.

Cheers
