Just Flight HS.748 (Preview)

You little rippa!

Hopefully there will be either 32 or 34 Squadron RAAF repaints with this package?

This will be a goodie , JUST FLIGHT and AEROPLANE HEAVEN are really cooking this year, be an ideal hanger counterpart for the Fokker Friendship, course add the Viscount I will have all my Darts flying together .. next maybe the Andover and Argosy next maybe.

I grew up around YS-11's and FH227's but did not see a HS.748 in person until my 20's. Our FBO had one come in from the Caribbean and clear Customs and take on fuel. The crew was from UK and were ferrying the bird on a repossession flight back to England (via NE US, Eastern Canada, & then Greenland before the UK). It was one of the few times I used dual Single Point Nozzles fueling an aircraft and I topped off the tanks. I was warned by the crew that there was no automatic shutoff valve that would stop the fuel flow when the tanks were full. They said each wing tank had a pop-down indicator which would extend when the tanks were full, then the excess fuel would be vented via an overflow port. I engaged the pump on the truck holding the "Dead Man Switch" and they had a crew member on each single point nozzle awaiting full fuel indication so they could shut off the nuzzle valve. One wing hit full before the other and started overflowing Jet-A fuel onto the ramp. One of the crewmen yelled "CUT CUT CUT" like a drill instructor! I disengaged the pump until the one crewmen closed the single point valve the re-engaged to finish filling the opposite wing tank. After we were done, the crew gave me a guided tour of the bird. The interior/cockpit was in bad shape with chipped paint and ripped fabric on the passenger seats. The exterior was in considerably better shape. The crew paid their bill and headed out for the next leg of the flight up to Canada. The sound of the RR Darts reminded me of the old long gone YS-11's.

It'll have to be very good to replace my brilliant AFG YS-11 (which I fly in P3D as well - vc not clickable of course) and Rick Piper's 748. Apart from anything else, I just hope the vc windows aren't completely transparent! (ruins the immersion for me)

Crikey , the AFG YS-11 :adoration: , that is getting seriously aged, Rick Pipers HS748 even extra :untroubled:, that was so so cool for the period as with the 780 , the Friendship had the glazing , in the light you bet the scratch's so I can't see why the 748 would not be without.

It's strange but that YS-11 has more immersion for me in FSX than many current offerings! Yes even though the graphics in the vc are very dated now. Maybe it's the sounds or the dirty windows or the handling. Or all of those together.

Still buzz around now and then in this one I did 4 years ago....;)
