Roger Wilco66, Rami and Tom Stovall are at Oshkosh enjoying the airshow. Here is a teaser of what we have seen.

Nice shot Tom, but I'm actually looking forward to a picture of the 3 of you. Rami already posted a picture in the CFS2 forums, showing him after just one day Oshkosh...... :biggrin-new:

Cheers,
Huub

I heard they have an area for seaplanes including the Hawaii Mars, sure would like to see that area.

Moses03,

Yeup...that's the one I saw today during the airshow...she's a beaut!

Huub,

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to reestablish contact with either Stovall or Roger Wilco. I tried to arrange them seeing my cousin in I fly in the Ford Trimotor, and I left a message on his phone to that effect, but we never crossed paths again or made further contact, and I'm off to see Lambeau Field and then head down to Germanfest in Milwaukee tomorrow.

Thanks for the video link, as I've never seen one of those fly. Now, if A2A would make an expansion pack for their T-6...hmmm. ;)

Thats a pity Rami as we haven't that much possibilities to meet fellow members face-to-face. But I'm convinced you will have a great time any way!

Enjoy it!

Thanks guys, it is absolutely great here. I have never seen anything like this before. Such a large assembly of flying warbirds, unbelievable. I also flew with the B18 Aluminum Overcast two days ago. What a great experience.

@ huub: we are working on a photo of us.

Cheers,
Mark

There are a few look-alike P-64's flying around, built from T-6 airframes, but the EAA's example is one of only two true/original surviving P-64's, and it is great to see it flying again (the only other original example is mounted to a pole outside a museum in Peru).

BTW, for those who were hoping to see the A-20 Havoc at Oshkosh (as it was planned to attend), unfortunately on the flight to Oshkosh early this past week, it had an engine failure about 100-miles out from Oshkosh. It was able to safely make it into a nearby airport, but was scratched from attending.

Pretty cool that there were four Skyraiders in attendance this year, and three F-86's (there were supposed to be four, but I heard one had to drop out last minute - the same one that used to be at Duxford and was supposed to debut at Oshkosh last year). The photos/video of the newly restored Mig-17 flying at Oshkosh are pretty sweet too. The restoration of Pat Harker's (C&P Aviation's) massive Stinson L-1 was finished just before Oshkosh, and it has to be one of the top contenders for the WWII Grand Champion Award (it is only now the second flying example in the world - Kermit Weeks of course is the owner of the other one). There is also a very nice newly restored rear swivel-gun and practice bomb-toting Pensacola-marked SNJ-5, the Collings Foundation's original Temco TF-51D, and the Tri-State Warbird Museum's RNZAF combat-vet P-40M, all debuting at Oshkosh this past week, and all capable of winning some awards.

I'm off to see Lambeau Field and then head down to Germanfest in Milwaukee tomorrow.

Say hi to my old neighborhood for me. I grew up two blocks away from Lambeau Field on Thorndale. Great place to be a kid.
