    Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

    You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

    If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

    To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

Sibwings An-2 SP-A00 requested... and more!

Which is the last version of Sibwings An-2 now? :dizzy:

I have this model (old files) for sure but I have big brake with this Antonov (too many CTD with this An-2 in FSX).
Maybe it's a good idea to convert it to P3Dv3.

I did some of repaints for this model:



 
@ce-zeta- I wish I could help further, however, ALL the switches work fine for me, and the RA works as well. Again, I am using P3D v 3.5 and installed just by pointing the installer to the correct directory. I updated with AM's latest FDE after installation.

@Yo-Yo- I have and admire many of your paints on MANY airframes :). If you or Ron or Hani or Gordon or..... get time to visit SP-A00 I would be greatly obliged. I am a You Tube fan of theirs, and have sent away for a hat and t-shirt... ;)

Problems with the switches and wipers were pretty much always due to the FSX default flight
saved by the customer.
If a flight is set up with the default Cessna with everything switched off and saved as the default,
then the AN 2 will very likely work properly when loaded after that.
The radio altimeter sound is just a case of finding the right switch to turn it off.

Nick- that is indeed my experience- just a BRILLIANT airframe for exploring the wonders of the Orbx World.... and for FEELING flight.

Just got SP-AMN- simply superb! If you have time to look at SP-AOO I would be most grateful.

Ok installed and checked in P3Dv3. 15 minutes of tests and it looks like all things works well in P3D (didnt check only lights in the cockpit at night). My installation file is with number 0.9.7.0 (is it ok now?). I added also 2.3 version of FM.

I found also this advise for P3D: http://strips.proboards.com/thread/31/sibwings-2-p3d-v3 and use it.

Thanks! BTW 55721 is the livery I used before your -AMN livery I just installed. I never did fly the An-2 in FSX but she is simply wonderful in P3D... Hours and hours of amazement and captivation- just enthralling.

If you do the paint, please keep her pristine :).

Wait, I did small update with this skin (SP-AMN).

Btw. I was a driver of An-2 in RL (just 1-2 hours at ALT 500-1000 meters , very stable platform but VERY sensitive to the wind).

I habitually save the flight and pick up heading off to the next destination... but I do a complete shutdown of the An-2 each time... not sure why you are getting this... you ran the installer right, and did not just copy the simobjects from FSX?

BTW- getting your latest -AMN update now... thank-you!

SHE LOOKS INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) I am headed to Haines, sat on top of a full 7000' overcast, looking for a hole to head down through... AND SMILING :)

An update... there I was happily sat at 3000M with sunlight dancing but nothing but cotton balls and wisps below. There were a couple of peaks visible far off, but my world was cotton wool and bright sunshine. The ADF was homing directly at 242 HNS and I was marveling at your beautiful creation, when i realized that there was not too much more window remaining, before descent was necessary. I was the highest I could go without O2, and a LOT higher than I usually fly the old gal (normally scud running over water hoping for visibility enough to poke at the next airfield). The Km clocked by and I began to get worried that I was going to have to fly right over Haines and head to Yakutat, where I could come in low over the water. At least I had been bright enough to load enough fuel! I came down as low as I dared, about 2500M where the wisps were streaking my windshield, and kept a sharp eye out. Nothing!

I was flying up the Lynn Canal and about Point Sherman I could finally see buildings below. That and the mountain slope off to the left told me I had better decide what I was going to do. There was enough to go on to slow the An-2 down to slat deployment (I had continuously reduced MP all the way down, and shuttered the cowl almost shut to avoid shock cooling); and then hold the stick into my stomach while dropping flap all the way to 30. She came almost straight down! By the time I got to Sherman Point I could see enough to point at the Chilkat Inlet and then it was a matter of continuous descent down to 300M where I could finally see the ice-floes below. Visibility ahead was still dismal, but straight down I could make out enough to poke through. I ran up the middle (or at least what I THOUGHT was the middle) of the inlet, and then when my trusty soup-plate ADF was pointing 5 O'clock I turned hard right, and let her slip down to 200m. The plan was to make another hard right and go direct HNS, climbing for all she was worth if I didn't see runway ahead. Hard-deck in my mind was 100M. I peered ahead and was relieved to see wisps once more- and then suddenly there I was mid-field and 90 degrees to the runway.

This would have been a problem in a lesser aeroplane. In my Anushka, I shoved in a little throttle to arrest the descent, raised flap from 30 to 15, cranked hard left, shoved in enough rudder to center the ball and with a surgeons touch on the throttle, brought her in over the centerline, dropping her down around the second last turn-off. She was already down to a walking place and I actually had to add throttle to turn off at the end. I taxied to the shed, cranked her around and killed the gas. As she clanked to a stop and I worked through the banks of switches I had a new respect for all those unknown Aeroflot pilots that spent their careers in the old girl- flying to cold desolate destinations, and providing the only link with the outside world.
