Looking for some Beaver :)

George-

Splendid-Ta!

Carl

You can have simulated wheels on the default Beaver if you want. It requires an edit of the aircraft.cfg and it becomes an amphibian, from the cockpit at least. There's no graphics for the mod, so when you look at it from the outside on a runway, it looks like it's floating in the air about a foot off the runway. Otherwise it behaves just like an amphibian. You use the "G" key to raise and lower the gear.

Looks like point 11 through 14 are new. Thanks for that, I'm gonna try this asap. Awesome.

Carenado's 185F 'Bush' would be one of those Cessnas BendyFlyer mentions that is well matched to your query.

Is there anyone here who can provide information on the Milviz Beaver's current development status? I tried continuing my Alaska journey in the Winjeel but switched back to the An-2 in short order. She is simply a superb platform for remote exploration.

A few have mentioned the Sibwings O-1.... is that FDE as good as the An-2's? Having spent time in the Anushka, I am hard pressed to find another companion for my upcoming Aleutian travels....

Ta!

The Sibwings Birddog FDE isn't as good as the AN-2 (I don't believe Alexander did the Birddog). However, I've always found it to be a thoroughly enjoyable plane to fly. Hard to beat its greenhouse and tandem seating for cockpit visibility. Cockpit animations add to immersion, and it comes with wheels, floats, amphib floats and skis, so you'd be set for your Alaskan adventures, no matter where you had to land.

Sibwings are some of the only payware planes still in my hanger anymore, fwiw.

Thanks Griphos! That's what I needed to hear.

I mostly fly in the FLs, but lately this whole Orbx Workd thing has been captivating :).... I agree, the Sibwing's An-2 is priceless... Will investigate their O-1.... Even if 50% as good it will be great. Any issues in P3D v3.5?

I can't handle the dusty dirty panel. I asked the devs on some forum somewhere if they could make a cleaner version of the panel as option and they flatly said they had no intention to do so. My Birddog sees very little to no action! :(
I tried to repaint / clean up the panel but couldn't stay focused on it. :(

George-

Glad to read this! Every classic I have flown was lovingly restored to like new factory condition. This entire distressed look is greatly overdone nowadays IMHO.

It works fine in P3Dv3.3.5. I don't mind the panel at all. I fly older airplanes (including my beloved Chief) and many of them have a "lived in" character. Part of the charm, if you ask me.
