Did you, or did you not plead that your problem should be addressed first.

Did you, or did you not, freely admit that you play on extremely low settings, so low infact that no testing of fixes has ever been done

I never used your name, why do you get your knickers in a twist ?

Scenery slider eh? Somebody please enlighten me, what's the difference between "scenery" and "terrain"? I'm going to have a stab in the dark and guess "terrain" is the rez of the tiles, and "scenery" is the objects on it?

Your stab is right on.... scenery slider is mostly the polygon shapes and the terrain is the ground resolution. Try fooling with them a bit. You'll note that your machine will fly with FPS at a Scenery of 1 but it look pretty P--- poor: trees and most buildings disappear at this scenery level. I can fly with acceptable frame rates at Scenery 2 but that is because I have the dreaded ATI card (with the now acceptable CFS3/OFF ATI-tweaks).

Yep, I had a play earlier on. I now have scenery on 2 and it still looks pretty damn good. The airfields still give a big hit down low, but as the bar has been raised it's not so catastrophic.

Now running:

Overall: 5
A/C: 5
Terrain: 4
Scenery: 2
Effects: 5
Clouds: 2

:)

I'll see how it goes near the front again, the effects might have to come down a notch or two, I think the barrages may be quite a big hit.

Just some meaningless info - The Overall is connected to nothing, it merely a leftover from CFS3

However those with the Hot Rods run Clouds on 3, those of us who lack power to burn run it on 1. Rationale used . . you don't want to fly into them anyway, why waste the power ? :ernae:

I wondered about the "Overall". Cheers.

As for the clouds, I've not been able to see a shred of difference whatever I've had them set on.

I do wish they'd strip the air-bases though. All that stuff, for what? One or two a/c and some hangar-tents would be enough. Everyone else 'out on patrol'. I still can't understand why low-poly props wouldn't be good enough, they'd do from an airborne perspective.
