The aircraft was Hunter FGA9 XG256 of 229ocu (79 Sqdn) The pilot was FO R.Pearson who ejected safely. He took off from RAF Chivenor.
I have the book "British Military Aircraft Accidents. The last 25 years" That's 1966-1990. A very informative book by David Oliver.
